The Goldbergs Dirty Dancing Episode

Goldbergs Sets Dirty Dancing Homage

The Goldbergs are about to have the time of their lives.

The ABC comedy will continue to pay tribute to ’80s classics with a Dirty Dancing-themed episode in Season 3, TVLine has learned.

The film “is a huge 80’s cultural touchstone — the music, the memorable lines, and of course, Swayze,” creator Adam F. Goldberg said in a statement. “No one loved it more than my mom. I’ll always remember how she dragged me to see it in the theaters several times and then bought it on video. I knew this was our big movie to explore this season when all of the writers on the show also had their very own Dirty Dancing memories from years ago. It really is a gem of the 80s and it’s so exciting to bring it to life with my amazing cast.”

Interestingly, ABC also has a three-hour Dirty Dancing remake movie, starring Abigail Breslin and Debra Messing, in the works.

The Goldbergs previously aired homages to The Goonies, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Risky Business.

    Love all their homages

  2. Maria says:

    Looking forward to it.
I was fortunate enough to go to high school right in the middle of the best decade ever (1983-1987) and this show is the ultimate tribute to a great time to be a teenager.

  3. Hipper says:

    Very underrated network comedy.

  4. Gina says:

Last weeks episode about Double Dare was the best so far this season. I loved that the actual Handsome Ben was included. I love this show so much!!

    • Phoebe says:

Yes, the Double Dare episode was the best episode in quite a while! I LOVED the comment/question montage of Beverly while she watched football. “Look at that big, snuggle pile-up.”

    • Eric S says:

The football mistakes ruined that ep for me. The other parts weren’t bad. But man alive Adam really was not a sports fan and it shows.

  5. Wendy says:

    Great show! Love it.
