Supernatural Video: Castiel's in Trouble — Plus: Scoop on the Das Boot Hour

When Supernatural returns this Wednesday (The CW, 9/8c), Dean and Castiel will be looking for a way to rescue Sam from Hell — but soon, the Winchesters will need to save their angelic buddy, too.

A fresh trailer for Season 11 showcases Cas getting close to Amara and Rowena, albeit in totally different ways, while Sam and Dean talk about “getting him back.”

“No matter how much it hurts, no matter how hard it gets, we gotta keep grinding,” Dean says. “And that’s how we’re going to win. We’re going to save Cas. We’re going to ice the Devil. And we’re going to shank The Darkness and anyone that gets in our way — or God help them.”

Also seen in the video: a first look at the show’s foray into the world of professional wrestling, guest starring The Miz, and an homage to an epic German film.

“We’re going to have an episode that is essentially our version of Das Boot, in which much of the episode will take place in a World War II submarine,” executive producer Jeremy Carver tells TVLine, adding that the hour “looks awesome, to pat the entire production on their back. These guys did an amazing job.”

  1. Chuck says:

So Castiel will be Lucifer’s vessel?

  2. Jennifer says:

The fact that Carver is handing Sam’s most important story over to Cas and making him Lucifer’s vessel is staggeringly disappointing and lazy.

Actually it’s like the exact opposite, it was creative. Now Lucifer is out, but doesn’t have his true vessel so the brothers still have some leverage over him. And now Cas is in the cage with Michael, maybe he can get the archangel out of the corner. Altho I’m kind of getting the feeling Lucifer may have stolen his brothers grace, and that was the screams Crowleys’ demons heard when the Darkness was released… If he didn’t tho, I hope Cas gets Michaels grace, new archangel?

  3. SnazzyO says:

The Supernatural Post Production Team continues to outclass every CW-made promo. These are epic stories and the production team knows how to show that.

I am so VERY excited for tomorrow night’s episode.

  4. Joseph Balaich says:

People always want something different in anything they collectively love. Supernatural’s case is no different. I personally love that we always see Castiel do everything he can to stop whatever evil the Winchester’s have to face. If he were to become Lucifer it is ironic in so many ways. 1. Mark Pellegrino tried out during casting for Castiel and got Lucifer instead. 2. Çastiel started a civil war in season 6 like Lucifer rebelled in Heaven. It’s the perfect reasoning to make this season the most complicated season for all characters since season 5.

  5. Ellie says:

Ugh honestly what is the point of predicting stuff on shows if they’re just going to put it in the frigging promo?! Now we all know Luci’s gonna ride Cas out of hell, and all of my excitement for tomorrow is gone.

Tonight’s episode was awesome! Watching it again already lol.
