Steve Harvey, Miss Colombia to Rehash Miss Universe Scandal in TV Interview

Let’s get ready to rumble!

Following Steve Harvey‘s staged publicity stunt unfortunate moment at the 2015 Miss Universe competition — in which he accidentally announced Miss Colombia as the winner, before transferring the crown to its rightful place atop Miss Philippines — the Family Feud host has agreed to a televised discussion with the runner-up, Telemundo announced Thursday.

The segment, airing Jan. 19 at 4/3c during Telemundo’s Al Rojo Vivo program, will provide a forum for Harvey and Miss Colombia (Ariadna Gutierrez) to “offer their version of the events.” We’ll also find out whether she’s forgiven him for the “shocking error that ended her dreams of becoming Miss Universe.”

According to network, the two “have not seen or spoken to each other since the debacle occurred.”

  1. Sally McLinn says:

Columbia is getting more press and TV coverage than the winner, Phillipines.

  2. Rane says:

To become a Miss. Universe is more than just an outward beauty or winning a sash and the crown. It’s also having a lot to do with Character. Sorry that Miss. Colombia had to go through what she went through but to say she was humiliated plus her country instead of using the unfortunate event to make a positive impact is not a good example of what true Miss. Universe stands for. It wasn’t Miss. Philippines Pia Wurtzbach fault that Steve Harvey announced the wrong winner. Hopefully Miss. Colombia’s appearance with Steve Harvey is not just for publicity but also to calm or diffused the negativity of some of her supporters who are bashing the real Miss. Universe who herself was concerned with Miss. Colombia that night. She is the most well known first runner up since everyone knows who she is now. That in itself is a good thing for herself. Besides when you join a pageant and there are judges why can some people not respect the results? Also what happened to sportsmanship? Miss. Pia Wurtzbach is the real winner based on all the judges results. And the more you listen to her interviews the more you realized why the judges picked her to become the Miss. Universe 2015. She is indeed confidently beautiful with a heart. Can people just move on?

    • Carr W says:

Agree with everything you said. I feel though that the press are the ones who need to move on. Proof is right here. They are interviewing Miss Colombia and not Miss Philippines because it will garner more views. I feel Miss Colombia is playing the pity card too much and the press is eating it up.

      • Rane says:

It’s alright Carr W. this is why we are here as fans from every part of the world to share our comments and hopefully the media will cover Miss.Universe Pia Wurtsbach more instead of giving publicity to Miss. Colombia. People will see true beauty inside out and Miss. Universe Pia Wurtzbach has that X factor to impact the universe in a positive way. I agree Miss. Colombia get out of your self pity party and show us what it means to really be a Miss. Universe without the crown and the sash.

    • Antonio says:

Well , you describe the philipinos like angels, you dont know how many horrible comments they write about Ariadna. And Im so sorry for you my friend but Ariadna is the real Miss Universe for MILLIONS of latinamerican. For us she got the crown first and she is first in our hearts, you cant change that. In one thing you are right, she is getting more press and more publicity than the filipina. Sorry for pia, she can keep the crown but will always be under the shadow of aN INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL AND CHARMING GIRL, like Ariadna. It is impossible for her not to catch the atention of tvynovelas USA Magazine, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Corona beer, Burguer King, she is FANTASTIC. No implants needed, no contact lents, no tons of make up. SHE IS CONFIDENTLY NATURAL. VIVA COLOMBIA.

  3. Jerri says:

I don’t get why this is a scandal. Did ms Columbia intentionally drop her top on live Tv? Did this “crowning” go for weeks before this mistake was realized? No, it was only for a few seconds. Get over it Ms Columbia instead of pushing for more media attention. Why don’t you do your country proud by doing something other than complaining about Steve Harvey’s mistake of you winning a glorified beauty pageant?

  4. Bobbie McField says:

“To ere is human” Mr. Harvey is an awesome man and gentleman. There is no way he would have intentionally embarrassed these lovely ladies. It is what it was!!!

    • Rane says:

Yes Bobbie we understand Mr. Harvey is an awesome man. What we don’t get is Miss. Colombia’s negative attitude which in turn not helping and as Sally mentioned above she is getting more publicity than the real Miss. Universe. The ball is in Miss. Colombia’s hands and if she wants to hang on to what happened and be the center of attention then what can we do? Truth needs no defense. Miss. Philippines is the winner and she is moving along well as Miss. Universe.

  5. herman1959 says:

No – I gave Steve the benefit of a doubt the first time – this is definitely a stunt.

  6. Reign says:

Damage has been done and apologies accepted.
The crown is now wearing to the real successor, the philippines.
