Hulu aka The Home of Beloved Comedies that Got Cancelled

    • Mat says:

It also has its own Hulu originals like Deadbeat. It’s also revived shows that have been cancelled like community or mindy project. You make it seem like a bad thing which is weird. Other streaming services have done this as well. Arrested development and longmire are now on Netflix. I read their gonna try for another season of arrested development too but scheduling is tough now that they have all gone their own ways. Netflix also has every season of Friends.

      • Stephanie says:

It didn’t revive Community. That was Yahoo.

      • zac says:

Hey I’m saying that as a positive thing. I will forever be thanking Hulu for picking up The Mindy Project.

      • flutiefan says:

Mat, your reading comprehension is lacking. That’s not what Zac was saying in the least.
He’s predicting that Hulu will start producing new eps of HE, and he’s happy about it.
He never called it “a bad thing” nor alluded to it being a bad thing.
You’re throwing shade where it doesn’t belong.

This news is aMAHzing. Now it’s only a matter of time until Hulu greenlights a fourth season, right? (Hey, a guy can dream.)

    • You and me both are dreaming the same dream man!! Lol

    • Priyam says:

That would be so amaahzing! All of them seem available right now, this would be a good time!

    • J.Norman says:

      Yep, you’re dreaming.
The cast is spread to the four winds and none are going to commit to a 4th season based upon a ‘maybe it will be hugely successful’ on Hulu. it would be near impossible to reunite the cast.

This is basically just a streaming network picking up a show that wasn’t going to broadcast syndication anytime some.

      • Whether it happens or not certainly has nothing to do with their availability at the moment. None of them are tied to projects at the moment where they would be unable to appear.

Not sure what you’re talking about when you say it would be “near impossible to reunite the cast.”

    • Sarah says:

Your lips to Zeus’s ears, amigo. I was hoping the same thing.

  3. rebecca says:

This is awesome.. maybe if it does well Hulu can bring it back! I could definitely use some more Penny in my life.

  4. Joey Padron says:

Good news! If Hulu gives the show a season 4 that would be great news! Hope it happens!

  5. Jake L. says:

Because the cast, crew and writers have moved on, it would be much more difficult to greenlight new episodes than simply acquiring the rights to old ones that aired on ABC. Not impossible, but harder.

    • Topsy Turvy says:

The cast, crew, and writers of Arrested Development had moved on when Netflix gave it another season.

    • Will says:

But everyone’s shows were cancelled or they left the show. I think Casey Wilson’s show on Amazon got picked up, but they could probably work around it

  6. Priyam says:

So 2016 just might be the year of Penny!

  7. Ray says:

My eyes caught the first two words of this headline and my I got my hopes up. With all the TV revivals and reboots in recent years, why not focus on the most worthwhile comedy to resurrect?

  8. Z says:

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, are all actors available? Wayans left New Girl cause he wanted his own show (which
hasn’t happened yet), and Adam Pally has a contract with ABC which may keep him away from other stuff. Eliza Couple is a guest star on Quantico but that shouldn’t be a problem, unless they need her in too many episodes. Any Intel?

  9. evababy says:

    This makes me so happy!

  10. eric7740 says:

    HELL YES!!!

  11. hbeachman says:

I shall celebrate by taking a whore’s bath!

  12. Chris says:

    (Claps slowly)

Touche’, Hulu. You have won. You may now have my business.

But seriously, I’m really excited for this. I missed a lot of Season 3 and it never got an official DVD release (I think the official method was contacting someone in Antarctica and they ship you a burned copy in an unmarked envelope, the series deserved better)

    • Steven says:

Yeah, the 3rd season is a manufacture on demand DVD set on Amazon. Costs $46, has no extras, and doesn’t work on all DVD players.

  13. Mike Lovitto says:

I would sign up for Hulu in a second if they revived this show!! One of the best comedies of all time!

  14. Jessa says:

  16. grazelled says:

Still can’t figure out why they cancelled a comedy that is still so missed!! Yay and thanks for Hulu!

  17. Stanislava says:

  18. K2 says:

Since Michael asked for our favorite episodes, here’s mine: Penny meets a guy who was recently dumped but there were a lot of things about him that she didn’t like. Jane suggests that rather than throw him back, she should mold him subtly into her ideal man like she did with Brad while they were in college. Penny changes him from a slovenly nose-picker into a polite, well-dressed preppy. Then she finds out that he gets back together with his old girlfriend because now he is HER perfect match. Hilarious!

  19. Jonnythec@gmail.com says:

Good show, abc was stupid to cancel.

  20. Jamie says:

  21. Yoho says:

Making my roommate watch it finally! Have been raving about this and community for years and thanks to Hulu he can now watch both! (Shame Hulu can’t grab that last season from the now defunct Yahoo! screen)
