Amy Poehler and Tina Fey Host SNL: Grade the Opening Monologue

The holidays are a time to revel in the company of old, much-missed friends — so what better time for Saturday Night Live grads Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to do a victory lap at their old stomping grounds?

The opening monologue began with the actresses riffing on their long friendship and quickly segued into an original, bipolar Christmas song that had Poehler delivering a boppy pop jam and Fey intoning a somber religious hymm.

Was it amazing? No. Did the two powerhouses sell it? Yes. And given how this segment of the broadcast usually goes… we’ll take it.

We’ll be back later with a rundown of the night’s best and worst sketches. Until then, grade Fey and Poheler’s opening monologue via the poll below, then hit the comments to elaborate on your choice. And be sure to check back later for video!

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!
