The Awesomes Cancelled

The Awesomes Cancelled at Hulu

Some not-so-awesome news for Seth Meyers: Hulu has cancelled the Late Night host’s animated comedy The Awesomes after three seasons, our sister site Deadline reports.

The series — which was created by Meyers and Mike Shoemaker and counted SNL‘s Lorne Michaels among its executive producers — centered around a group of up-and-coming superheroes. The show is reportedly being shopped around to other outlets.

Meyers also voiced the show, along with Ike Barinholtz (The Mindy Project), Taran Killam (SNL), Kenan Thompson (SNL), Rashida Jones (The Office), Bill Hader (SNL) and Rachel Dratch (SNL).

Sad news. I like the show a lot, it was a good show.

  3. Mak says:

Why was it cancelled…Does Hulu/Netflix/Amazon publish their ratings? Hope TMP is safe.

Frown. That’s not awesome. This show was great.

  5. webly3 says:

This is very surprising. The show seemed to be one of Hulu’s more successful shows.

  6. Noo says:

Lame. The show had so much character development, it’s a shame to see it go to waste now.

  7. Robin says:

I think a major reason is that the show is only available to paid Hulu subscribers past the first couple of episodes this season. I get that paid subscribers should get first crack at it, but to never show it to those of us who can’t pay? Majorly unfair.

I just started watching this show and I am on Season 2.. love it

Bummer, and they left it with a major cliffhanger. I guess the numbers were not there.
