NCIS/NCIS: New Orleans Crossover Trailer: Tony Arrests [Spoiler]...?!

Oh, brother.

NCIS‘ Tony DiNozzo (played by Michael Weatherly) has an unenviable task in the Jan. 5 crossover with NCIS: New Orleans, as revealed in the trailer below.

As the teaser gets underway, Tony has to arrest Abby’s (Pauley Perrette) heretofore never-seen adult brother, Luca, played by guest star Tyler Ritter (The McCarthys). Worse, at the end of the clip, Abby is tasked to “break” her bro — else Gibbs will!

Also spied in the promo is Longmire‘s Cassidy Freeman and her unmistakable fiery locks, looking like she is up to Tess Mercer levels of no good.

  1. Pat says:

Wow,this looks exciting. It will be interesting to see if Abby will be the one to interrogate her brother.

  2. We have seen Luca before but as a child in the episode “Hit and Run”. Looks to be a great crossover episode to get us started in the back half of both “NCIS” and NCIS: New Orleans”.

    • Matt Webb Mitovich says:

Yes, as exhaustively detailed in my original reporting on Tyler Ritter’s casting. (Not everything always fits in a neat little sentence.)

  3. Scott says:

looks like they are at the abandoned Six Flags New Orleans

  4. Alyse says:

A crossover why? I only watch NCIS, not any of the spinoffs.

    • Scott says:

for this is it’s probably because Abby is supposed to be from New Orleans so I guess her brother still lives there or close by and it would be odd to have them go to NO and not mention their sister show

    • Why not? While you might only watch the mothership, there are a lot of people who watch both (or all three, for that matter) and who will likely enjoy seeing the crossover.

They used to do crossovers a lot in the 80s and 90s, (and with some interesting combinations – anyone remember the Magnum PI/Murder She Wrote crossovers?) but for some reason they fell out of fashion. I miss that, and I’m looking forward to seeing the casts comingle.

  5. justafan says:

Is it true that Tony and McGee won’t be appearing in part 2?
If it is true, that’s kind of a bummer.

  6. Lyn says:

I’d love to see Chris Pine do a cameo of the brother Tony never knew existed.

  7. Malissa R. says:

    Oh cool!

  8. The producers of NCIS need to be careful about how they get rid of Weatherly, I still remember how the (real) death of Dan Bloker affected Bonanza. Of course, that was a different era.
