The Originals Video: Elijah Offers Freya a Lesson in Proper Torture Etiquette

The hunt for Rebekah’s body — emphasis on “hunt” — is heating up on Thursday’s The Originals (The CW, 9/8c).

TVLine has an exclusive sneak peek of the episode, which finds Freya and Elijah attempting to squeeze information about their sister from an unconscious Tristan, not unlike the way Freya recently tortured Aurora.

Speaking of which, Freya’s treatment of Klaus’ ex inspires Elijah to utter one of the most Elijah statements I’ve ever heard: “I’m obscenely fond of torture, but … when I’m entertaining, I like to be the one to choose precisely when and how we violate the guests.”

I mean, that’s straight out of Torture Etiquette 101, right?

Oh Elijah! Freya has a will of her own.

I really like this show, and heaven knows I love Elijah, but I’ve definitely had enough of torture as the go-to plot. Too many shows have overdone it, and it seems like half an episode consists of screaming. Enough! (That said, I will admit that that is a great Elijah line quoted above.)

  3. I don’t understand why you keep moving this show around?? Don’t you realize that’s the quickest way to doom it to failure!! Leave it in one time slot and let the fan base catch up to it. It really is one of the better shows around. I have been an Elijah and Klaus fan from the very beginning. Of course I will follow it to whatever night you put it on, but come on guys, don’t make me boycott the W B because of its short sighted views. If you cancel this show, then there is no reason for me to watch the W B. Do you remember a show called Star Trek that the networks canceled say about fifty years ago?? Well guess they didn’t see that mistake coming. Enough said. Pleeaaasse leave my favorite show alone.

It called the CW not WB. TVD and TO has been slipping in ratings, writing and quality. TVD may get canned but TO still has a few more seasons tho

It wasn’t short sighteness, the network clearly planned the whole thing to make way for all its DC shows. Which by the way I’m furious about.. TO and TVD are still my favourite shows on the CW.
