Elisabeth Hasselbeck LEaving Fox and Friends

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Poised to Depart Fox & Friends in December

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is exiting Fox & Friends at year’s end.

According to Variety, Hasselbeck — who joined the Fox News morning program in 2013 following her stormy tenure on The View — is putting her TV career on hold to devote more time to raising her three children.

“With a heart full of gratitude and the peace that God has given me, I am confident that this personal decision is the right one for our family,” Hasselbeck said in a statement.

A revolving door of guest blondes co-hosts will fill the Hasselbeck void alongside Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

  1. oh no, where will they find another blonde!!!

  2. Mr. Tran K says:

This makes me very sad. What’s next for Hasselbeck post-Fox and Friends?

    • Jonah says:

You didn’t read the article? It was pretty short. Motherhood is taking priority right now. As it should. Doocey and Kilmeade would be a hard duo to face day after day, after day. Hasselback is a bit too smart for them, I think. Blonde she may be, but besides being sexy as heck, she has the best features and interviews.

  3. Huh says:

But who’s my mom going to quote before I am forced to correct her misinformation? Will she leave before thanksgiving? That’ll save a few arguments are the dinner table.

  4. LT says:

This woman…one of the easiest gigs on TV for a working mom and she wants to give it up???? She’ll be peddling stuff in paid programming come next summer.

  5. Jake says:

Thank god!! This reality show “yes that is why she is supposedly famous” idiot is one of the most overrated morons on tv. This is a blessing!

  6. Sally Mander says:

Something’s up. Why is she waiting until now to raise her kids?

  7. Clint says:

All I can say is GOOD BYE! i never saw where she was much of a contributor on either program. She represented the republican view with void comments and put credence to dumb blond. What ever her message is/was it did not resonate with the people that mattered.

    • Glenn says:

Who are “the people that mattered” you mention? Democrats or Progressives, I imagine. Or are you referring to anyone with a differing opinion? I find your “void comments” mean spirited and sexist (“dumb blonde”). I thought Republicans were waging the war on women. I try to treat all women with respect, regardless of their hair color or political views. I guess my blonde mother was smart for teaching me how to respect women. It has served me well. One more thing Clint, nobody really cares what you “says”.

  8. Jules says:

Mistake letting Alisyn Camerota walk. She would’ve been the better choice when Gretchen Carlson left F&F.

  9. dru mont says:

I suspect she was on the verge of getting dumped and she resigned to save face. No great loss as far as I’m concerned – the woman has been under qualified for just about every job she has ever had and she knows next to nothing plus she is very mean-spirited. I say the less we have to hear the garbage that comes out of her mouth, the better we are. Oh, and all Fridays matter!

  10. A fan of TV says:

For the sake of human decency, I hope her decision to be a stay-at-home mom has nothing to do with family illness or trauma or anything like that. For the sake of human decency, I hope that she’s not just plotting her next career move to another fire-and-brimstone ‘news outlet’ so she can continue to be the worst.

  11. linda says:

Sorry to see Elizabeth go but I’m sure her cancer scare weighs heavily..

  12. Sharon says:

I will miss your to the point interviews and reporting. Your family is blessed that you will be there to be a strong mother and wife. Best wishes.

  13. danoregon says:

It is interesting. I don’t know how much prep is involved with F&F. Figure 6-9 a.m, all you are missing is seeing the kids off to school. And she’s the highest paid of the three.
You do wonder, though. If she takes another job does that mean she doesn’t want to focus on her kids anymore?

  14. dj says:

Hooray. She was never the right fit. Now, if she’d just take Kilmeade and Doocey with her, it would be a great start to 2016

  15. Ginny Mayer says:

Couch decoration, she gets to do the puff stuff as long as she doesn’t speak more than 100 words a day. Otherwise she just nods. Tim will have to finally go to work.

  16. Ed says:

you guys kind of used a quite…revealing picture

  17. Brad says:

It’s about time she got voted off the island…..again.

  18. schu says:

I’m a little disappointed by your snideness Michael (and I’m a huge fan of yours and your site btw) with your guest “blondes” strikeout. I sincerely hope that isn’t the case that Fox&Friends will solely be reliant on adding a pretty face. And for anyone giving their two cents about her being canned or they don’t like her, look at any tv ratings at any time, for any cable news outlet, FNC surpasses everything, by quite a bit. And I’m sure most of the people watching are your parents, maybe you could learn something from them.

    • A Fan of TV says:

That’s the crux of the problem with Fox News, though – 7 million-plus viewers, eating up unabashed bias and calling it news, day in, day out. There’s infotainment, edutainment, entertainment, fluff, and falsehoods on Fox, but no News. That’s a problem.

      • Tiredofliberalcrap says:

But it’s not a crux of the problem for MSNBC Fan? There’s one channel out there that leans a little bit to the right, and liberals and democrats can’t stand it. To me, it doesn’t lean far enough. And as for the infotainment, edutainment, entertainment, fluff, and falsehoods . . . you can find all of that and more in any of the multiple hours of “Today” or any other of the “news” programs in the morning. Keep fighting the good fight schu.

  19. newy says:

Can’t believe I used to like this person back in Survivor.

    • Ben says:

I’d still like her on Survivor. I wouldn’t mind having her back. When it comes to Survivor, I’ll put politics aside – she seemed to have a bit of fight in her in that game, and she might still make a decent Survivor player. I don’t have to like someone in real life to like them on Survivor.

  20. Nero theTVFiddler says:

I wish her the best – not my favorite, but she’s built up a resume starting from nothing more than a stint on Survivor, and I give her credit (and her agent) for that accomplishment.

Some time off is never a bad thing – absence makes the heart grow fonder. Perhaps she’ll get some new perspective on life around her, get some rest (the hours of prep and makeup and all for those early morning shows can be deadly… 3am wakeup calls. A person can only take so much of that until it starts to effect one’s health. Lack of sleep is no fun, particularly over the course of a couple of years.

Get some R&R, see what 2017 and 2018 bring – the kids will be that much older by then, and EH will have a chance to recharge.

All the best to you EH and get some rest and reinvent yourself – that’s the secret to all this.

    • Jean Brown says:

Thank you for the words of encouragement to Elizabeth. I have watched her for several year’s. I am 88yrs old. I still work 24hrs. a week. Elizabeth is beautiful, talented TV host, kind @ appreciative lady, mother @ wife. Everyone else, GET A LIFE!!!

  21. john says:

Is she going to do Porn?

    • Lauren says:

Hilarious! No, she is leaving to raise her kids (wink, wink). This is another way of saying that her contract was not renewed at Fox.

  22. Lauren says:

Let me talk smart about the issue at hand. I am not surprised or shocked to hear she is departing from Fox. She is leaving to raise her kids. Uuummm, sure whatever. I believe it is more like her contract was likely “NOT” renewed. She leaving to raise her kids? Yeah, right!

  23. Rob says:

I’m a liberal who can’t stand Elisabeth Hasselbeck but I am a big fan of The View and its current incarnation is really lacking. Methinks it might be time to get the band back together for Season 20.

  24. nancy says:

Merry Christmas to me! She always interrupted with the dumbest comments. Always had to have last word. I would like to see Alisyn Camerota return. Brian and Steve are so funny and good.

  25. Ron pierce says:

I guess because she is beautiful blond and smart everyone wants to hate her. She is one tough and informed republican so I’m assuming all you guys are dumos(demos)

  26. Marie says:

I wish you luck and enjoy the time with your family. At least you care about your kids and not continuously leave them with other family members to raise them. You are doing the right thing to become a “stay at home mom”. That job is vacant quite a lot these days.
Good luck and thanks for your contribution on Fox & Friends. You will be missed.

  27. Mike says:

This so called reporter should not have ever been on tv in the first place my cat has more talent then that

  28. User says:

Author: I’m so witty!…I’ll strike through the word “blondes” since all of the co-hosts have been “blonde”! Oh, my sides are hurting!!

  29. Marge Minervino says:

I wish Fox could get Alisyn CAMARATA BACK FROM cnn to replace Elizabeth. Her great personality is wasted there. At fox, especially on F&F, she was great.

  30. Patricia Sedwick says:

Elizabeth, thanks for your contribution. You are a true American.

  31. scumbuster says:

Many idiots here think (can they really?) what was said was soooooooooooo bad. Lucky I wasn’t there, I’d call that arrogant, narcissistic big ear’d negra a commie, America hating ‘N’word, several times. The idiots here, buy a brain and acquire a spine.

  32. Bob says:

    She is one classy lady

  33. Marilyn Hughes says:

Was never thrilled with her. So hope either Anna or Ainsley gets the job.

  34. janice smith says:

Well maybe now, Elisabeth, you can get your self-respect back. As soon as you started on Fox you started dressing like their little whore. The women they hire are really very smart intellectually but they dress them up like a little Barbie and have them sit there with their dress half way up their thigh. You automatically lose any credibility.

  35. Shelly says:

So glad! She added absolutely nothing to the show. I think she’s probably an awesome person but not a news reporter. She’s like the baby sister that everyone has to look after. I dislike the 1 color short dressed all the female reporters wear. Are they not allowed to wear pants?

  36. Betty Lochmiller says:

Good by Elizabeth. Maybe your show could find a way to not have the lady in the middle with her legs wrapped together and all the men sitting with their legs sprawled apart in every show.

  37. Celt says:

do not mind another puppet will replace her

  38. Chief says:

Hope she returns. Anyone who can survive the harridans on the view needs to be on TV. Such a positive attitude ( especially after dealing with the aforementioned hags ).

  39. Pat says:

Why is Fox bringing in more liberal guest ?? I have almost stopped watching Fox at all….

  40. JYuna says:

Where will we find more liberal idiots making comments about anyone above their bean dip world and political IQ. But then the Big Lue appealed to those other PC National Socialist-the Nais.

From a retired military officer and worldwide engineering consultant, your touchy geeky and treasonous media morons have forced me to not only leave the once proud moral Democratic Party since the Nam, but watching foreign broadcasts to get the truth of the POTUS and his mob responsible fur mass slaughter and exodus, the worst since WW II. Seeing what is going on under these New World Order idealist, it was refreshing to see a lady under 200 lbs and some character and manners for a change.

And this choice says more about her than these liberal prostitutes for the biggest political pimps in our nations history.

At least her kids will not be on welfare rolls or protesting what makes men, nations and America great and Obama’s street punk drug laden past and current performance ain’t it.

  41. Joe says:

    To Ms. Hasselbeck: “Bye Felicia!”

  42. Janet Sharpe says:

I believe Elizabeth Hasselbeck is right in putting her family first. God bless her!

  43. Dan says:

I thought they should have given the gig to the weekend anchor who left fix for cnn. What a blunder v

  44. Barbara says:

Fox and friends use to be my favorite morning program until Hasselbeck joined. There is something about her voice and the way she is always capturing the camera that just did not do well for me. Maybe come January I will try again.

  45. Dan D. Man says:

Maybe she can replace the clowns of ‘The View’ with a show of her own.

  46. Ann Fritz says:

That language has it’s place. They were expressing how most Americans feel in todays frustration of how our country is going. I have been hearing a lot worst said about this “speech”. These 2 people were expressing their frustration too.

  47. Gail Wood says:

Never thought she was the best fit. I hope Ainsley gets the job.

  48. Ruth LaChance says:

    Hurrah!

  49. jo ann quig says:

I wil not mss her. She seems to step on other hosts lines. It just doesn’t flow well with her. She is very nice but not suited for this position.

  50. Gerry Probert (Mimi to two precious grandkids) says:

Elizabeth, we are going to miss you so much! You are such a classy lady, so sweet and good and so smart . I applaud your decision to stay home with your little ones. You will never be able to replace the memories you will make with them. They will grow up so fast and these days will be gone. FOX is really going to have a time replacing you. God bless you and your family.
