American Music Awards 2015

American Music Awards 2015 Photos: Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth's Big Kiss, Plus 14 Other Key Moments

The 2015 American Music Awards might have been safe — seriously, I dare you to find a scandal — but that didn’t stop the three-hour fete from being any less fun than in previous years.

There were a few interesting pairings — including Alanis Morissette and Demi Lovato, as well as Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth(‘s mouths) — and a fair mix of moving and get-up-and-move performances.

The ’90s nostalgia levels were also through the roof this year, with a Clueless reunion — Alicia Silverstone and Jeremy Sisto introduced Gwen Stefani — and a special shout out to hostess Jennifer Lopez, courtesy of a certain ex-boyfriend.

Browse our gallery of 15 must-discuss moments below, then drop a comment with the ones you’ll still be talking about when the 2016 AMAs roll around.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

  1. Evan says:

I was not happy during J-LO’s Dance opening number as they played Sir Mix-A-Lot’s “Baby Got Back” they cut to Nicki Minaj!

I’m sorry, you did not make that song popular, you sampled that bit to make your song “Anaconda” popular which at no time did they actually play any of the music that went with your rapping. Sir Mix should have been there for the cameras to focus on, not her.

  2. hbeachman says:

The sound techs should be banned. Vocals came in low for quite a few performers, especially Walk The Moon.

  3. Erin says:

The name of the Carrie Underwood song was Heartbeat.

Taylor Swift not only had the most nominations, she had the most wins of the night!

  6. Luis M. says:

Really? Not one mention of how Jennifer Lopez slayed the stage with her opening performance? Okay.

  7. abz says:

Was anyone else annoyed by seeing Frankie Grande over and over throughout the night? He’s so damn annoying and fame-hungry.

  8. AngelWasHere says:

The show looked boring. I’m glad I missed it. I figure you would recap it though, so thanks. ;)

  9. Jennifer says:

Am I alone in thinking Nick Jonas’s performance was really good?

But it has to be said: Lovato slayed it on Confident. Best performance of the night.
