Saturday Night Live Tina Fey Amy Poehler Host

Saturday Night Live Taps Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to Host Holiday Episode

Saturday Night Live‘s Dec. 19 broadcast will be an early Christmas present for longtime fans, because alumnae Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be back to host.

The NBC sketch comedy series announced Fey and Poehler’s return via Twitter on Tuesday.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be the musical guest that evening.

Other December hosts include Ryan Gosling (The Notebook) with musical guest Leon Bridges on Dec. 5 and Chris Hemsworth (the Avengers films) with musical guest Chance the Rapper on Dec. 12.

Though both Fey and Poehler have returned to host SNL since their departures, the Dec. 19 outing will be the first time the pair — who have co-hosted the Golden Globes for the past three years — will headline Studio 8H together.

Ok… So if we are starting the co-host thing, can we please have Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen hosting together? Please

I love that idea – it would be such a treat!

I’m excited about Tina Fey & Amy Poehler co-hosting SNL as well as Bruce Springsteen as musical guest. Back in Psych’s heyday, I used to wish they’d ask James Roday and Dulé Hill to host together (because USA is under the same corporate umbrella), but alas it wasn’t meant to be.

Really looking forward to December 19th when Tina & Amy co-host the final SNL of 2015.

BTW, wonder if Chris Hemsworth has something to say about his role in the upcoming Ghostbusters movie when he takes over as host come December 12th.

  3. Good. That makes up for me having to boycott the Trump episode…

  4. LADY_in_MD says:

Have there ever been two hosts before?

  5. herman1959 says:

Yes! I’m looking forward to actually seeing an entire episode – I haven’t done that since Kerry Washington hosted.

Tina, Amy AND Bruce??? I want to go to there….

  9. Guest says:

Can they please write it too?

    • grazelled says:

That’s the first thing that came to my mind, please let them write the show! What a lineup, I might actually watch.

    • iHeart says:

yeah well what would they do really? Tina never had any established characters, and the only things I remember Amy doing is the Couple Who Should Get a Divorce, the Dakota Fanning Show, and well unless they bring Maya Rudolph in the Bronx moms, and to be honest they weren’t really funny (the characters) All I see them really doing is taking over weekend update and give Michael and Colin a breather

      • TD says:

None of the other non-SNL hosts come in doing old characters. And all SNL alumni who host do much more than repeat old characters.

  10. LT says:

    Happy Holidays to us!

  11. Ron says:

Yaaaaaaassssssss!!!!!!! This seems like a perfect opportunity to have them both do the full Weekend Update, as well as a revival of Palin & Clinton.

  12. John says:

Is this the first tandem-hosting gig in a long time, as well?

  13. Joey Padron says:

So happy they’re hosting together for holiday episode! It’s gonna be a great episode!

  14. SNL LOVERS says:

We miss Kristen Wiig also…bring her back to SNL!!!!!!

  15. Quincy A. Wagstaff says:

So then this is the first time Saturday Night Live has had two hosts at once on a single episode. Very interesting.
