Into the Badlands Ratings

Ratings: Into the Badlands Bows Big, Ranks as Fall's Top Freshman Debut

AMC’s Into the Badlands took a sword to the competition Sunday night.

Buoyed by its monster Walking Dead lead-in, the martial arts drama attracted 6.4 million viewers and a 3.2 demo rating, edging out NBC’s Blindspot and CBS’ Supergirl (which both bowed to a 3.1) as the fall’s top-rated freshman debut (broadcast or cable).

Badlands fell short of two other recent AMC launches — Fear the Walking Dead debuted this summer to 10 million viewers and a 4.9 rating, while Better Call Saul opened to 6.9 mil and a 3.4 in February, leading out of The Walking Dead. However, unlike Fear and Saul, Badlands is not a spinoff of a popular franchise.

Found it to be kind of dull. There needs to be more substance than just choreographed fight sequences

  2. Joy says:

Are ratings based on the entire length of a show or just the lead in portion? Because I know a lot of people who watched the first 20 minutes solely to see the “next time on The Walking Dead” clip that was airing at the first commercial break.

  3. Julia says:

I don’t see the ratings staying this high. A lot of people sampled because it was sandwiched between TWD and TD. I watched and was kind of meh about it. Not that interesting.

  4. Sandy says:

  5. What is up with Martin Csokas doing dreadful accents in every role?

I like the premise and the fight scenes. Not happy with the over acting and under acting in certain characters. I Love Madeleine Mantock, she’s talented and beautiful.

While I loved the show, sunnys swords hamon is the fakest looking hamon I ever seen. Its bothersome. But the show is still sweet.

This is an awesome new show, can’t wait to see more! Lots of action, and I see a great storyline coming, it kind of reminds me a little of the Divergent movies, but a different take on it, less technology ( atleast inside the bad lands ), and crossed with a martial arts movie and a few other shows.
And Quinn is the best character/ actor on the show, keep him around an health for as long as possible!
