Madam Secretary Video: Elizabeth Spars With a Passionate Lost Alum

With all due respect, Madam Secretary, you may have finally met your match.

TVLine has an exclusive sneak peek at Sunday’s episode (CBS, 8:30/7:30c), in which Elizabeth attempts to end the trade embargo to Cuba. Her bigger obstacle, though, will be the extradition of a woman who fled to Cuba in the ’70s after being accused of killing a police officer.

In the video above, Elizabeth meets with the fugitive, Afeni Rahim (played by Lost alumna L. Scott Caldwell), and quickly learns it will take a lot of arm-twisting to bring the woman back to U.S. soil.

Madam Secretary is becoming very prolific. Last week they killed Jihadi John and yesterday we killed Jihadi John by drone.
    Good work – MS writers!

  2. Bella says:

Why would we want her back? Leave her there!

    • Derek says:

Oh maybe to make her accountable for what she’s done … bring her to justice .. and all that jazz. If I were in the victim’s family, it’s PMO to know she’s in Cuba living whatever life she chose all those years ago and my father, brother, whatever never got the chance to do the same.

      • Renee says:

Assata Shakur did not kill the New Jersey trooper but she knew that during that time, and with her being an activist, she would be charged with it. In this episode they actually get her back on American soil but i seriously doubt that she would ever come back here or that Cuba would allow America to have here.

When are we gonna find out that the jerk who’s advising the president these days and who our hero thinks is an unethical, self-serving narcissist, is the one who arranged for the hack on airforce one? At least I hope it was him… and it feels like it was him. I’d prefer that we find out it’s him so MS can make one last comment as he’s taken away in cuffs. I gotta say that if it turns out it was someone else, and there’s a story that follows that “humanizes” the jerk by either giving us his back story or whatever, that’d suck because that’s what happens so often.
How about him giving her the respect she deserves after he sees how she handles some crises out here. Mind you, how could she ever trust him? It’d take a family catastrophe and he saves the day.

The writing on this show is phenomenal! Last week’s sib stuff with TL and ES had me laughing out loud and arguing along.
