Dana Carvey-Led Impressionist Competition Picked Up by USA

Well isn’t this special?

SNL vet Dana Carvey is returning to television in a new USA Network reality competition series called First Impressions.

Carvey will be the “expert-in-residence” helping the nation’s best amateur impressionists as they duke it out to see who’s got the best arsenal of famous folks locked within, the network announced on Thursday.

The half-hour series will find Carvey and famous guests mentoring contestants and participating in the game play, with home viewers voting weekly to help crown a winner.

“There are so many great impressionists and First Impressions gives them an opportunity to showcase their talents,” said Carvey, in a statement. “Besides, I’ve always enjoyed watching an impressionist nail somebody… as in capture their voice. Now I get paid to watch.”

Watch some of Carvey’s work below involving a number of U.S. presidents, then tell us if you’re excited about the concept for his new show.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

I’m into it, as long as they have some good ones. (Wish I could remember the name of that gal that I liked on AGT a few cycles ago…she’d be one to watch…)
