NCIS Sneak Peek: Will Gibbs Take a 'Stab' at Removing Tony's Splinter?

Is there a Gibbs Rule about not whining about splinters? If not, NCIS‘ DiNozzo might want to add one and heed it, ASAP.

In the above sneak peek from tonight’s episode (airing at 8/7c, on CBS), Abby delivers to Gibbs! Gibbs! Gibbs! her findings on what a discovered bullet did and did not hit. Boss then tasks DiNozzo and McGee with revisiting the crime scene — only, the former is still nursing a splinter he got while working the case earlier.

Tony’s options are thus: Let Gibbs remove the fleck of wood with his trusty (and kinda big) blade, or hope that Abby’s “banana peel” remedy works. Which way will he go?

Elsewhere in the episode, the murder of a retired Navy Lieutenant Commander forces Ducky to reveal his participation in a secret society that solves cold cases; Jessica Walter (Arrested Development) guest-stars.

  1. Dean says:

Not surprising for a guy who clips his toenails with a tinsnip.

  2. as524 says:

Rolling my eyes at infantile & highly strange Abby. Seriously past time to have that character grow up.

    • Kim R says:

I love Abby. I will say, however, as a woman her hair style would have changed by now. It may still be quirky and Abby-esque but the pigtails would have gone. She would be 30ish at this point. They can let her grow up a little! :)

    • mazel tov says:

Amen. Every major character on the show has changed, not Abby. Its still “Gibbs, Gibbs, Gibbs, Gibbs, Gibbs,” and Caf-Pow. Grow up, mature.

  3. Lee S. says:

I’m not usually one for “childish Tony” stuff or “pay attention to me DiNozzo”, but that was cute.

  4. Helen says:

LOL! Tony is a major wuss. He will go for the banana!

  5. TvLover says:

Oh good grief. DiNozzo just needs to man up, find some tweezers and get over it. Or a more useful person to help with that particular problem in my opinion would be either Ducky, or Palmer. But the show wants laughable moments in between the crime I guess.

    • darkangel200 says:

What DiNozzo really needs is a better writer. Dear God, stop wasting the character for these eye rolling moments!

  6. Anna says:

It’s really time to end that show!
Besides the total flop Bishop Tony has been made a silly guy and childish Abby gets more ridiculous from episode to episode!
What writer comes up with such nonsense?
It’s high time for CBS to find producers who know what they do!
Since Bishop joined the show has turned from fantastic to unwatchable!

    • cosmoman11 says:

The problem isn’t Bishop. She has grown on me. The problem is that after 13 years they have run out of fresh ideas. And they have made Tony more buffoonish than he should be. He was especially so on the NCIS LA crossover.

      • Leia says:

The mothership writers aren’t responsible for LA, I’d definitely see Tony whine over a splinter, he’s afraid of needles with good cause, and his former car losses have been rather whiny, well not the mustang, but the corvette and the el dorado yeah whiny.

    • mazel tov says:

Bishop is doing just fine. She is no Ziva, but she wasn’t meant to be. Ziva was no Kate yet we got used to it.

  7. Seriously, why are they writing Tony this way??? There’s funny then there’s idiotic and this is pretty much idiotic.

    • Pete says:

Sadly this is the way they have been writing DiNozzo for supposed humor (not the kind I find in the least bit funny) for years.
The humor in the early seasons was so much more natural and actually amusing. It’s no real surprise that the funniest scene of all time for the series was the one where they let the actors ad-lib.

    • Domi says:

      1 word : pitiful

There is gone the real Dinozzo ?
      I’m sad for Michael Weatherly

  8. Christine says:

Without Ziva Tony has been the only reason I didn’t stop watching but what’s with these writers that they have to ruin the Tony character?
All these soap romances, Bishop baby sitting, holding the clicker as the SFA and now this crap!
Maybe Glasberg hasn’t realized yet that Weatherly is the only actor with real comedy talent!
Stop using Tony as the butt of jokes! Use Bishop, she’s worthless anyway and boring!

    • Leia says:

Ridiculing a woman won’t get you far, and Tony has always, been a vocal whiner.

    • Dean says:

‘she’s worthless anyway and boring!’ Is that what the kids at school say to you to make you so angry that you vent your frustrations here to people who don’t agree that Ziva David is the cure for cancer and the end to world hunger.

    • Alea says:

I agree, NCIS needs Ziva David BACK! I totally miss her…the whole crew just seems lost without her. Love this show, have watched from day one…was sad to see Kate killed off, but then they brought Ziva into the fold…it just got better…and I loved the Kate character, but someone Ziva just revved things up!

  9. Jennifer Perit says:

Wow how is this the number one show when all of you “smart people” know so much more about how to run it? Bitch, bitch. Jessica Walter was hysterical – Gibbs is feeling better and will soon be his own self

  10. Erin says:

I’m just sad for Michael Weatherly and Tony fans. The writers have really gone out of their way to destroy his character. Meanwhile we get a steady diet of tragic Gibbs walks on water again this week. I really feel sad for Weatherly. He should have walked away when Gary Glasberg took charge and decided to turn this into the a soap opera, mostly about the personal tragedies of Gibbs.
