Monday Night Football: Eagles/Giants + Star Wars Trailer = Ratings Surge

This week’s Monday Night Football match-up between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants — which also featured the unveiling of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer at halftime — averaged a 9.6 metered market rating on ESPN, up 25 percent from last Monday’s Steelers/Chargers game and marking the best overnight numbers since the season-opening season-opening Millennium Falcons/Eagles contest (which drew a 9.8).

ESPN’s coverage peaked at halftime, as it always does, with an 11.7 rating, up 31 percent from last week but shy of the season-high peak (13.9) hit during halftime of the Falcons/Eagles game.

In the New York market, MNF delivered a 9.4 rating on ESPN and a 4.6 on WPIX, for a combined 14.0. In Philadelphia, the game scored a 16.5 rating on ESPN and a 15.8 on WPHL, for a combined 32.3.

Who cares Mike? You’re not being 100% of a person who doesn’t have the brains to do so or being a contestant on The Price is Right. On the other hand, the Star Wars trailer is freakin’ awesome.

Didn’t watch and I am a Giants fan. I’m just a bigger Scorpion / Blindspot fan. :) Instead I caught highlights (lowlights?) later and grabbed a peak at the trailer right here on TVLine on a Blindspot commercial. Thanks for posting it.

That trailer was awesome. I can’t wait for December. The football game was boring though so I watched the baseball game instead.
