Ratings: Mets/Cubs Delivers Most Watched LCS Opener Since 2010

The New York Mets’ 4-2 win over the Chicago Cubs on Saturday night averaged 7.9 million total viewers on TBS, the largest audience for any League Championship Series opener since Yankees/Rangers in 2010 (which drew 8.1 mil).

Compared to last year’s NLCS Game 1 on Fox (Giants/Cardinals), viewership was up 58 percent, and versus TBS’ most recent coverage of an NLCS Game 1 (Cardinals/Dodgers, 2013), Mets/Cubs was up 46 percent.

Saturday’s night’s contest reached a peak of 9.3 million viewers between 10 and 10:15 pm ET.

Fox’s broadcast of Friday’s ALCS Game 1 (in which the Royals blanked the Blue Jays, 5-0) drew 6.2 million viewers.
