Dr Ken Premiere Ratings

Ratings: Dr. Ken Has Healthy Debut

ABC’s Dr. Ken saw 6.7 million total patients while scoring a 1.5 rating with its Friday premiere (per finals), improving on Cristela‘s year-ago launch in the time slot (6.5 mil/1.3) and delivering the greatest demo build ever (+17%) on a Last Man Standing lead-in.

The freshman sitcom also was Friday’s No. 1-rated scripted program. TVLine readers gave the premiere an average grade of “C.”

Opening ABC’s night, Last Man Standing (6.6 mil/1.2) ticked up from its season opener. At 9 pm, Shark Tank (6.8 mil/1.7) added eyeballs while steady in the demo.

Elsewhere…

CBS | The Amazing Race (6 mil/1.2) and Blue Bloods (11.4 mil/1.3) grew in audience while flat in the demo, while Hawaii Five-0 (9.2 mil/1.1) ticked up from last week’s series low.

THE CW | Masters of Illusion (1.3 mil/0.3) ticked down a tenth, while Top Model returned to Friday with 1.1 mil/0.4, dipping in audience but steady in the demo versus its most recent Wednesday airing.

It is so nice to see the CW bomb. Stick with my prediction that around 1/2 their shows will finish below last HOD #’s.

      How does bitter taste, lol.

      • Boiler says:

Tastes good. CW is likely dead to me. I am tired of superheroes. There eeds to be a fun show like HoD on TV and CW had it until their ridiculous early renewals

    • brandydanforth81 says:

0.4s aren’t bombing for Fri for CW.Plus theyre cheap reality shows so they can get lower ratings and be ok.Did you forget HoD got 0.4s and 0.2-0.3 in s&4& that in its last two seasons it got only two 0.5 as its high? Also, it’s Fri,CW Dosent expect better than 0.4s anyway.Get over HoD being cancelled already!!!It was the third lowest rated scripted show on CW and two of the three that did worse were cancelled along with HoD.If 0.4 on Fri are “bombing”how are justifying” HoD shouldn’t been cancelled”?Also,ANTM makes tons of money internationally & syndication.Scrioted shows and reality shows have different ratings standards/expectations for renewal.Yourcoredcition might be tight sadly though because seiralized shows-which are most of CWs shows-loose viewers as they age& tv live viewership declines each year.

Brandy quit trying to justify all your bitterness over me. I get it you didn’t like or watch HoD. I do not recall seeing .2s or .3s I think you will see Jane, Reign, Originals and others fall below HoD. Sorry if you don’t agree. HoD is a type of show that needs to be on the air somewhere and for a 4th year show consistent. CW paid for its stupidness of early renewals and they deserve whatever bad they get. Yes I am bitter about HoD and am proud of it

Sad that people wish failure instead of just enjoying the time they had with a TV show. All shows come to an end at some point. Move on and find your next favorite.

  2. Erika says:

Is everyone surprised about Dr.Ken’s ratings. But next week, Dr.Ken ratings will drop sharply.

    • thisismenow says:

It’s tough to say. His popularity might help him to manage a few episodes before the ratings plummet. Chances are, it’ll be a one and done season. His numbers are still below Malibu Country’s bulk of the series and that was axed. He’s on par with Cristela and that was axed too. On the plus side, the show is doing better than The Neighbors (which should never have been placed on Friday night).

    • Larc says:

Numbers are taken shortly after the start of the show. The picture would have likely been very different if it had been done near the end. Next week’s numbers should be more telling.

  3. Mr. Tran K says:

Not very happy about Dr. Ken’s premiere numbers and I really hope that it will drop in week 2 (TRUST ME).

  4. Bradster says:

Dr. Ken was horrible. I doubt it will last.

    I miss Cristela

  5. KC says:

Dr, Ken was funny. Cristela was the worst decision ABC ever made.

  6. :) says:

I miss cristella. it was a good show. Dr Ken was okay I think they have a few kinks to work out. It should be fine.

  7. Christian says:

Didn’t bother watching Dr. Ken but the numbers don’t shock me. I saw Last Mam Standing for the first time this wk on ABC Family and it was the biggest piece of doo doo I’ve ever seen and it’s on season 5 now! People will pretty much watch crap!

  8. Wendy says:

Dr. Ken was terrible. The writing is horrific.

  9. Grace says:

    Hawaii 50 is unwatchable.

    • Really? says:

Well, that’s your opinion, I watched it and enjoyed it. So, guess it is watchable by some, huh?

      • Grace says:

Really ! Numbers say the truth , only a small bunch of old people watch the show . And H50 was the only original scripted drama at that time so it could had not been easier for this show , LOL

    • Keith says:

As long as they stick to solving crimes it’s fine but when the have the stupid arguing between MCGarrett and Danny is when it gets bad.

      • Grace says:

They will need to bring back guest stars ASAP to help the main weak cast. Only way to help . As they did with Terry O. ,Carol Burnett,,,

  10. ncmacasl says:

Ken was horrid. Probably did so well since even Hulu wont touch it! Only way to watch is live or DVR. Expect a HUGE drop for week 2!
