I Am Cait Series Premiere

TVLine Items: I Am Cait Renewed, Shatner Celebrates Star Trek and More

Caitlyn Jenner can make herself comfortable at E!: The cabler has renewed I Am Cait for a second season, according to BuzzFeed News.

The docuseries — which follows Jenner as she navigates life as a transgender woman — debuted in July to 2.7 million total viewers, then fell to half that number in the following week.

Despite the low ratings, I Am Cait reportedly is eyeing a March 2016 return. An E! rep declined to comment.

Ready for more of today’s newsy nuggets? Well…

* Star Trek vet William Shatner will host a 50th anniversary celebration for the sci-fi series at next March’s inaugural Silicon Valley Comic-Con. Tickets for the event — which will also feature other stars from Star Trek‘s TV and film incarnations — can be purchased here.

* Fox has ordered seven additional episodes of its upcoming midseason comedy Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life, which stars Jack Cutmore-Scott as the titular 26-year-old who helps America’s youth deal with life and love in their 20s. Per Deadline, the extra seven hours bring Cooper Barrett‘s episode total to 13.

MEH on the renewal of I Am Cait and I did tune in for the Season 44 premiere of The Price is Right but all I care about is whether or not TV’s longest running game show will end sometime in the near future and fans are still outraged getting mixed reactions about the show or Drew Carey or depending on whether to bring back the three model rotation which they still haven’t done it since Season 41. Go complain all you want and to your family.

I feel like Shatner has been celebrating Star Trek for 50 years.

The producers at E! want to move season 2 to Alabama. This will shake things up!

Season 1 of I am Cait was very disappointing. The show will get better ratings if the rumors that it will aire after KUWTK are true…but also I hope the quality of the show improves. Cait might need to take pointers from the very people she’s trying to distance herself from – The Kardashians – on how to make addictive TV if she wants her show to survive.

I don’t understand the watch-ability of this show. It is one more example of trash TV. I couldn’t care less about her and her trials and tribulations.

I Am Cait is one of the best shows on TV. Thank goodness is was renewed for a second season. Caitlyn, your courage is so admirable, and you are doing a great deal of good for the transgender community. Most of us straight folks looked at transgenders as sort of weird people, but because of your show we can now see that they are just normal human beings with just a different view of life.
