Ratings: NPH's Best Time Ever Opens Well, Trounces DWTS Recap Show

NBC’s Best Time Ever With Neil Patrick Harris premiered on Tuesday to 6.8 million total viewers and a 1.9 demo rating, leading out of a strong America’s Got Talent.

The variety show — which TVLine readers gave an average grade of “B-” — improved NBC’s post-AGT average by 36 percent in the demo, marks the network’s highest-rated/most watched alternative series launch since December 2012, and bested ABC’s Dancing With the Stars in the 10 o’clock hour by 73 percent.

This season’s penultimate Talent show opened NBC’s night with 11.3 mil and a 2.3, up 8 percent and two tenths week-to-week.

Elsewhere….

CBS | Leading out of special Tuesday Big Brother (6.4 mil/2.0), the Zoo finale (4.8 mil/0.9) slipped 16 percent and a tenth to series lows.

ABC | The aforementioned DWTS recap/interview show thing averaged 5.7 mil/1.1 from 9 to 11, besting CBS’ Zoo in its first hour by nearly 1 million viewers and 22 percent in the demo.

Best Time Ever was kinda fun but I doubt it’s something I’ll watch regularly. DWTS recap show is ridiculous anyways. There’s no need for it.

Oh wow it trounced a DWTS rerun. Call it a recap show, it was a rerun with window dressing. It also followed a rerun of FOTB that got a .8 not like NPH’s 2.5 lead in. Best Time Ever had a decent debut but let’s not act as it faced original competition. It faced reruns. DWTS lead in was also FOTB reruns that were on their 3rd run.

Thinking decent is better a better word than well given it had really no competition and a pretty good lead-in

Really?? A recap of DWTS? Zoo is so much better than that. Hope the DVR numbers boost the ratings enough to get them to renew it, at least for one more season.

  5. NPH’s Best Time Ever is going to move to 8pm? When?
