Bruno Mars Super Bowl 50

Report: Bruno Mars in Talks to Perform at Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show

Call the police and the fireman, because Bruno Mars may be taking the Super Bowl stage once more.

The “Uptown Funk” singer has been asked to headline the Super Bowl 50 halftime show, according to a report from

Mars last performed (alongside the Red Hot Chili Peppers) at Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014, which was the most-watched halftime show ever until Katy Perry’s performance last February.

Super Bowl 50 will take place Feb. 7 in Santa Clara, Calif. Hit the comments with your thoughts on a potential Bruno Mars repeat.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

They will be fortunate to have him again.

  3. iHeart says:

all it took was one shark to make us want Bruno back.

  4. Nichole says:

Awesome. His was the only halftime show in recent memory worth watching.

  5. Mr. Tran K says:

It will be great if Bruno Mars performs in the Super Bowl halftime show.

  6. m3rcnate says:

Sounds great, will be fun to see the Seahawks back in the Superbowl with Bruno Mars again.

  7. Some chick says:

Woo hoo! Now I’ll have no reason to watch the Super Bowl! Shopping FTW

  8. Matt says:

Was Beyoncé not available? Mars put on one of the most boring shows in recent memory.

  9. Annie says:

Yippie!! He has the most energy and hopefully he will be the only halftime performer. As much as I loved Lenny Kravitz, he was on the air for 30 seconds with Perry in the last halftime show.

  10. Malinda says:

    Grand idea!
He was a class act next to all the others.

  11. Tom says:

Ugh can’t they get someone decent like, you know, Foo Fighters or someone who actually rocks. What’s Joan Jett doing? We had to suffer through a Katy Perry acid trip this past February, we haven’t had a decent one since The Who in 2010. We’re due.

  12. Kris says:

    Noooooooooooo he was so boring!!!

  13. Ram510 says:

This is awesome!!! Bruno puts on a very entertaining performance and he’s a singer that actually SINGS live.

  14. CJ says:

By far the most enjoyable halftime show in the last decade, in my opinion. I’m not even a big Bruno Mars fan but it was a great performance. Very entertaining. I’d be happy to have him come back again.

  15. c0rinne says:

His show was the best I’ve ever seen so this would be pretty great.

  16. danoregon says:

I’d love to see a blow-out halftime show, rockers, pop divas, boy bands, dancers, marching bands, dancing sharks, wardrobe malfunctions – it’s can’t just be a typical SB halftime right?

  17. M says:

Really? Can they not afford anyone else? Geez … Didn’t watch him the first time and won’t watch him this time

  19. Laura says:

Hooray! An actual performer with musical talent. His was the best in recent memory so I hope this is true.

  20. Mary says:

I did enjoy his first performance at the Super Bowl, but in all honesty I do not want him back again so soon. I cannot believe that nobody else who could draw a crowd is available. Maybe he will do it for free. Oh well, I guess we don’t have a say in it.

  21. NJMark says:

The Super Bowl (and the halftime show) is always the highest-rated telecast of the year, and is usually higher rated than the one(s) before. It has nothing to do with the headliner!

  22. Ded says:

Been there, done that. Taylor Swift, maybe with guest GaGa?

  23. shar says:

I hope so, his performance was one of the best in a long time.

  24. TheCos says:

Oh please NO!!!!!!!!!! There are several talented musicians in California you could get for the Super Bowl. How about Journey? Bruno Mars…Hell No! I hated his last performance and sure as hell don’t want to deal with it again, especially if I’m attending the Super Bowl.

  25. Saintsfan9 says:

If he performs again and Seattle is in the super bowl I will NOT watch it this year. I don’t know who I dislike more, though I’m leaning more towards the Seahwaks ugh.
