Fear the Walking Dead: Watch the First Three Minutes (With Title Card)

The undead apocalypse is fresh and shiny and new — and still full of gnarly surprises — as seen in the opening minutes of AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead.

Set in the same universe as the well-watched The Walking Dead, the offshoot (premiering this Sunday at 9/8c, with a 90-minute episode) promises “a gritty drama that explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family in Los Angeles.”

The story follows high school guidance counselor Madison Clark (played by Friday Night Lights‘ Kim Dickens) and English teacher Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis, Gang Related), while Frank Dillane (Sense8), Alycia Debnam-Carey (The 100), Elizabeth Rodriguez (Orange Is the New Black), Ruben Blades (Gideon’s Crossing), Mercedes Mason (NCIS: LA) and Lorenzo James Henrie (7th Heaven) round out the cast.

This edit of the series cold open also includes a first look at the unsettling FtWD title card. The official Comic-Con trailer is embedded below.

Where’s the first 3 minutes? Am I missing something?

I wished they had named it something different. The title is so stupid. Also how long before TWD and this become ensentially the same show? I’ll be watching, but I’m not sure about this.

why not just watch it and see how it plays out? the title makes perfect sense given the premise. it has been mentioned by robert kirkman that there is an end to this particular story already (unlike TWD). he said that when certain peoples’ relationships and story reach a certain point, fear the walking dead would have to obviously end. he said that he hoped that would be over more than several seasons but did not say how or why he said that for obvious reasons. personally i think eventually the two will merge and fear will have to end. but we will see.

I think we’ve seen most of this clip before… was hoping for some footage of the rest of the cast.
