Westworld: Get a First Look at HBO's Western-Tinged Sci-Fi Drama

Saddle up, sci-fi fans: HBO has released its first teaser trailer for the upcoming drama Westworld, and it’s a crazy ride.

The video above, which the network aired just before True Detective‘s Season 2 finale Sunday, brings viewers into Westworld‘s Western-themed futuristic theme park where the androids go berserk and attack the guests.

The series is inspired by Michael Crichton’s 1973 movie of the same name; it stars Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs), Thandie Newton (Rogue), Jeffrey Wright (Boardwalk Empire), James Marsden (30 Rock), Evan Rachel Wood (Once and Again) and Ed Harris (The Rock).

    Creepy. Seems to be a lot of synth : robot series lately. I’ll probably watch it though.

    Yul Brynner scared the beejeebers out of me as the Gunslinger when I was a kid. I hope this new series will do the same – looking forward to it!

    Tr ailer looks good. anything with Anthony Hopkins in it Is usually pretty good so this thing might be pretty good if it’s half as good as the movie was it’ll be really good.
