Legends of Tomorrow Vandal Savage Cast

Legends of Tomorrow Casts Season 1 Big Bad Vandal Savage

How do you stop a villain you can’t kill? That’s a question the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow gang might want to Google, and quickly, because The CW series has cast immortal bad guy Vandal Savage.

Danish actor Casper Crump will portray the scoundrel in the upcoming Arrow/Flash spinoff, the network announced Tuesday.

Per the official character description, Vandal Savage has “spent the past 6,000 years moving like a virulent disease through history, whispering in the ears of despots and dictators, all leading to his eventual domination of the world.” (Anyone else have “Sympathy for the Devil” in their heads now?)

Like Falk Hentschel, whose casting as Hawkman broke yesterday, Crump will make his debut in this season’s crossover episodes of The Flash and Arrow. He will recur on Legends of Tomorrow, set for a midseason premiere.

In addition to several Danish TV shows, Crump will appear in the upcoming film Tarzan.

  1. He looks the part. That’s good.

  2. Dean says:

Spot on casting especially if he keeps the beard.

  3. “In the pre-“Crisis” universe, Savage was native to Earth-Two, but as seen in Action Comics #516, thousands of years in the past a sorcerer revealed to him both the future existence of the Justice Society (even showing him a battle he would have with them, with Hourman in their ranks), and the existence of Earth-One.”

Will people insist that he is also from an alternate universe like they do Jay, or finally accept that the talk about multiverses was probably as premature as the talk about Supergirl crossing over with Arrow and Flash and that, in all likelihood, Jay will hail from the past and not another world? Savage is one in a long line of Earth 2 characters that appears in Arrow and Flash, a list that includes Hawkman and Hawgirl as they will appear in Legends of Tomorrow (Carter Hall was also originally from Earth 2 and, yet, there’s been no talk whatsoever of him coming from another world, everything indicates that he is a native of this single reality whose past lives have all taken place in a singular timeline). Why would Jay Garrick be the exception as so many believe he will be?

    • Erik says:

You do realize the cast and crew have said the worlds multiverse in relation to the flash series right?

      • I reiterate m question, why would Jay be the exception? A multiverse may mainly refer to the alternate timelines, like on in which Barry’s origin happened like in the comics (vat of chemicals + bolt of lightning) and one in which it happened as a result of Thawne’s experiment. It doesn’t necessarily nor exclusively have to refer to infinite Earths. Infinite Earths basically cancel time travel, and since Legends depends on it it would be counterproductive. Alternate timelines, on the other hand, are perfect.

  4. Murica! says:

Great casting. He looks like a perfect fit.

  5. Sharon says:

Now this is how to cast. He is so right for the role.

  6. tp says:

What ever happened to that series Labyrinth that was supposed to come on the CW? I don’t come on this site as much as I used to so maybe I missed it.
