Throwback Thursday: 12 Memorable Sons of Anarchy Episodes to Revisit

The modern TV landscape is packed to the gills with incredible content — and yet, despite all the new shows available to us with the tap of a trackpad, we can’t help obsessing over shows that have long been off the airwaves.

In our new “Throwback Thursday” feature, we’ll be revisiting series that aired their finales months (or years!) ago, along with a photo gallery that will turn your nostalgia up to 11. First up? Sons of Anarchy.

Sure, the gritty FX drama only took its final ride last December, but is it ever too soon to miss a show this captivating? (Answer: No.) Plus, with SOA creator Kurt Sutter’s The Bastard Executioner on the horizon, we couldn’t think of a better time to hang out with the SAMCRO gang once more.

We’ve highlighted 12 pivotal Sons installments worth rewatching. Keep in mind: If you’re brand-new to the world of Charming, Calif., this spoiler-filled guide to the show may not be for you. But if you’re a longtime SOA viewer who can’t decide which episode deserves a repeat viewing, allow our photo gallery to help you out.

Scroll through the pictures below — or click here for direct access — to see which Sons episodes we’ve chosen, then hit the comments with your own suggestions! (But please, don’t go reaching for the carving forks if we skipped over your favorites, OK?)

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

I feel like the episode that Opie sacrificed himself for Jax should have been included. I still ugly cry during it.

  2. Jax&Juice's Girl says:

Yeah, I agree Opie’s death was a big one too. I was still new to the show, started watching w/S4 and watched 1-3 after. But wow his death SHOCKED me!

  3. AKA says:

Given how the show ended with Jax I don’t really have any interest in rewatching. There’s no hope!

  4. Morgan says:

No “Hands?” Four episodes from season seven? Season seven literally had one good episode. One. “Suits of Woe.”

  5. CLF says:

What about the episode of Tig’s daughter getting burned alive, Bobby’s eye and Clay killing Piney?! Gemma’s rape and when she tells Jax and Clay about it.
All in all the series is Great and it is better then the 12 episodes mentione here but I do appreciate that tvline is giving SOA a #tbt

  6. I loved this show, and everything about it

..but parts of S7, wow. That was kinda hard to get through.

  7. Stephanie says:

No laying pipe? That episode was painful and Opie’s heartbreaking choice to sacrifice himself in place of Jax was a pivotal part of the series. That moment changed Jax and helped send him on the path towards the end.

  8. Ralph Hartman says:

I’d just make this list 92 episodes long and rewatch all of them.
