The successful pop star will recur as Sir Cormac, the highly (and dangerously) ambitious protégé of a church elder, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Kurt Sutter’s 10-episode, 14th-century drama — which FX greenlit in May — “tells the story of a warrior knight in King Edward I’s charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword. But when that violence finds him again he is forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all.”
Sheeran, a fan of Sutter’s Sons of Anarchy, contributed a song to that series’ final season. He also appeared in Undateable‘s live episode earlier this year and will have a live concert special on NBC later this summer.
The Bastard Executioner, now shooting in the United Kingdom, is slated to premiere this fall.
