Fall TV Preview

The Muppets Video: Miss Piggy and Kermit Reunite in New Pilot Preview

Prepare yourself for the greatest Miss Piggy performance to hit the Internet since her (unofficial) cover of Rihanna’s “B–h Better Have My Money.”

Due to popular demand, ABC on Tuesday released the original 10-minute pilot presentation that convinced it to greenlight The Muppets, a mockumentary-style comedy airing Tuesdays at 8/7c this fall.

It’s basically an extended version of the trailer released earlier this summer, giving us a closer look at Kermit’s new girlfriend Denise, Miss Piggy’s new boyfriend (Topher Grace?) and Fozzie Bear’s girlfriend’s judgmental family.

We also find out what ultimately convinces Piggy to do the show. (Hint: It’s green, webbed and drop-dead sexy.)

Hit PLAY on the preview video above, then drop a comment below: Will you be watching The Muppets this fall?

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

I had no intention of watching this show but now that I’ve watched the video, I’m absolutely watching. That was hilarious! I almost spit my iced tea across the table a couple of times!

I had no intention either. This was a great introduction to the series. Now I am looking forward to it!

  2. I don’t see Gregg or Count Blah…

  3. Mr. Tran K says:

Really hope The Muppets is going to be one of ABC’s breakout hits if they can topped Agent Gibbs and Co. in the 8 p.m. Tuesday night time slot.

I love The Muppets so I was already planning to tune in but this blew my expectations away. Now it is one of the new shows I am most looking forward to. It was great.

Is this 10 minutes of the first episode or is it its own thing? I hate when extended trailers spoil the first episode. It sours me on a series early on.

    • C.Stulz says:

It’s its own thing. This was meant as just a test for the executives at ABC to see the what the show would be like. We’ll see if they use any of it for the show itself.

Stupid cocktail ad is covering the top half of the video, and I haven’t been successful at removing it. Weird.

Now I feel silly ~ I found the little X in the corner. At least I can view the whole screen now.

    Love the Muppets.

    Hate the mockumentary style.

  14. Bob Backus says:

Gonzo is right- hand held cameras and cut to interviews are WAAAY overused and incredibly dull. I agree with a couple others tho, I didn’t plan to watch but this was funny.

Not to mention how I hate “Jiggle Vision” Does anyone outside of the unfortunate few with Parkinsons, jiggle their head as much as this crappy “jiggle vision”?

I definitely took 10 minutes yesterday to watch this when I saw it on Facebook. If you love The Muppets then you are undoubtedly excited about this new “adult” take on your favorite characters.

Of course I’ll watch with my son. Another generation raised on the magic that was Jim Henson.
