Chicago Med Scoop: Grimm Alum Joins NBC Spinoff as Series Regular

The hospital staff at NBC’s Chicago Med just gained a new member: Brian Tee (Grimm), who has joined the upcoming Chicago Fire spinoff in a series-regular role.

The actor will play a resident at the hospital (and a Windy City native) who found his calling in medicine after several years as an Army medic. He joins a cast that includes Laurie Holden (The Walking Dead), S. Epatha Merkerson (Law & Order), Oliver Platt (Fargo), Yaya DaCosta (Ugly Betty), Nick Gehlfuss (Shameless) and Colin Donnell (Arrow).

Fun fact: Tee appeared in an episode of Chicago P.D. last April, playing gang member Jesse Kong. In addition to playing Grimm‘s coin-hungry Akira Kimura, his long list of TV credits also includes Hawaii Five-0, Legends, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Baby Daddy.

Originally held for midseason, Chicago Med will now air Tuesdays at 9/8c this fall, to accommodate the real-life pregnancy of Heartbreaker star Melissa George.

They’ve got a very talented cast assembled. If its anything like the other Chicagos then I’m in.

I LOVE to hate this guy. Have since Tokyo Drift. He has that kind of face. One more reason to look forward to that show.

Brian is a very down to earth great guy, nothing like his bad guy characters. I went to school with him, he is awesome.
