Arrow Season 4 Terrific Anarky

Arrow Casts Mr. Terrific and Anarky

Less than a week after the roles were announced at Comic-Con, The CW’s Arrow has cast both Mr. Terrific and Anarky.

Echo Kellum, whose TV credits include Ben & Kate and Sean Saves the World, will play Curtis Holt aka Mr. Terrific. Though his namesake in DC Comics lore — Michael Holt, the second Mr. Terrific — was an Olympic decathlete/black belt/all-around brainiac (but not Brainiac) and eventual Justice Society leader, Arrow will introduce Curtis as a tech whiz who works for Felicity at Palmer Technologies, EW.com reports.

TVLine’s Inside Line column first reported on the casting call for the character.

Meanwhile, Alexander Calvert, who has appeared in episodes of A&E’s The Returned and Bates Motel, has been cast as Anarky, a DC Comics villain most often pitted against Batman.

Arrow Season 4 premieres Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Actually in the comics, Terry Sloane was the original Mr. Terrific and Michael Holt was the new Mr. Terrific. It seems like CW-DC Universe are creating their own Mr. Terrific or maybe this Curtis Holt is a relative? Interesting….

  2. spindae2 says:

Neat choices. Also both will first appear in ep 2.

  3. Drew says:

Should they maybe stop using villains that usually go up against Batman? If they are out of Green Arrow rogues, they could just make up new characters

    • tvjunkie says:

Given they are not well known characters outside of the hardcore comic geek demographic, to a lot, probably majority, of viewers introducing a batman villain or making a new one up makes no difference.

      • Drew says:

Last season, one of the major criticisms of the show was that they were trying to be Batman, and they failed miserably. Going back to the Batman pool again so quickly might not look good to a lot of people who are looking for Arrow to get back on track.

    • jrex says:

Green Arrow never had a very deep vein of great rogues. Aside from Merlyn, Cupid and the Clock King most were pretty generic thugs in the comics.

      • James says:

The first season wasn’t exactly about super heroes but since the time shifting happenings of ‘Flash’ Arrow is taking an increasing supporting role to a growing cast of enhanced humanity. Eventually the existence of Batman and Superman wont be able to be ignored.

  4. Kate says:

I loved Echo’s character on Ben and Kate!

  5. Luis says:

Once again, Green Arrow being proven to be a cut rate Batman. Come on guys.

  6. Kat says:

I’m very happy with the Mr Terrific casting. Looks and sounds awesome. He was great on Ben and Kate too. I think he’ll work well with Emily Bett Rickards too.

Unlike some, I don’t care if the villains are from Batman. I want good character stories and writing and I hope this show remembers that there are still much loved characters on this show that we know nothing about, like Diggle and Felicity. I’ve been waiting 3 years for their stories. I hope these two new characters don’t end up sidelining them.

  7. It’s been over a day how come the casting of Atom Smasher on Flash hasn’t been posted?

  8. Luis says:

I hope Echo enjoys the salmon ladder . . . what’s Felicity going to say at HIS requisite shirtless scene?

  9. Haylscat says:

Love Echo Kellum! I’m glad Terrific will be getting so much time with Felicity. Echo and Emily will play great off of each other.

  10. Ms Thing says:

I see Another character about to be ruined just to prop felicity.
