Mr. Robinson Video: Craig Robinson Previews His 'Crazy' Post-Office Gig

If NBC’s upcoming Mr. Robinson is half as fun as its star seems to be having in this exclusive sneak peek, we’re all in for a good time.

The comedy, led by Office alum Craig Robinson, follows his character as he tries to make a living as a substitute school teacher by day/professional musician by night. (The concept is loosely based on Robinson’s own life.)

In the video below, Robinson introduces his castmates, including Frasier‘s Peri Gilpin as the school’s principal and Deception‘s Meagan Good as one of the (multiple) objects of Robinson’s character’s affection.

Mr. Robinson premieres Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 9/8c. Press PLAY on the clip to hear Robinson compare watching one of his co-stars’ performances to “eating a chocolate macadamia nut” and to hear his character’s band, The Nasty Delicious, in action.

  2. Nathan Chavez says:

Wasn’t this kinda already done? It was called the Steve Harvey Show.

    • Fern says:

      That’s exactly what I thought.

    • Will says:

That’s the first thing I thought of when I heard about the show. But then you realize that Craig Robinson was actually a teacher, and it’s just a case of his art imitating his life that was also unintentionally imitated by Steve Harvey.

  3. Patrick says:

I love this guy, but this show sounds and looks unwatchable.

  4. Nick says:

Craig Robinson automatically gets a chance in my book.
