Homeland Season 5 Trailer: A 'Naive, Stupid' (!) Carrie in Peril?

“Keeping America Safe” is the tagline for Homeland‘s first Season 5 trailer — but who’s looking out for Carrie Mathison’s well-being?

Claire Danes’ alter ego gets attacked from behind in the dark, (possibly) abducted in broad daylight and insulted by her mentor Saul Berenson all in the course of the 30-second teaser.

Heck, all the woman wants to do is “good work”! (Thankfully, it looks like old crush Peter Quinn will be at least tangentially involved in that pursuit.)

Despite buzz that the Showtime drama was headed back to the U.S. after a season spent in South Africa (standing in for Pakistan), exec producer Alex Gansa announced in March at PaleyFest that Carrie & Co. would be putting down stakes in Europe for its upcoming batch of episodes.

TVLine reported last month that Alexander Fehling (Inglourious Basterds) will play Jonas Happich, a lawyer dating Danes’ former Islamabad station chief during her self-imposed exile in Berlin.

  2. Mr. Tran K says:

Great to see Peter Quinn back in the fold but I’m wondering if Carrie doesn’t trust Saul after what went down in last season finale and they better get rid of Dar Adal during the upcoming season…we hope.

  3. LABete says:

Love seeing Saul back on top of his game! Also love seeing Quinn back in play. Now we just need to get Carrie back in the band! I’m excited to see how that happens!

  7. Ugh, sure isn’t giving any sign that they’ve learned anything from the last two seasons.

  8. kendra says:

looks like Quinn was watching Carrie from a distance. and how dare Saul judge Carrie after what he pulled in the season finale hes probably the reason Carrie left the CIA she cant trust him anymore.
