Ratings: Zoo Opens With a Decent Roar

CBS’ Zoo debuted on Tuesday night to 8.1 million total viewers and a 1.2 demo rating, making it the summer’s most watched and No. 2-rated new scripted series.

For comparison’s sake, Extant last summer premiered to 9.6 mil and a 1.6, while Under the Dome opened Season 3 last Thursday with 6.3 mil/1.3.

TVLine readers gave the James Patterson adaptation an average grade of “C+.”


FOX | Coverage of the FIFA Woman’s World Cup drew 9 mil and a 3.3 during primetime’s 8 o’clock hour.

NBC | America’s Got Talent (10.6/2.4) slipped two tenths opposite America’s actual talent show on Fox, while I Can Do That (5.3 mil/1.5) rose 10 percent and a tenth with its finale.

ABC | Extreme Weight Loss was steady with 2.4 mil/0.7.

    But in a few weeks,Zoo ratings will be down and then possibly cancelation like The Wispers.

  3. i do not like ZOO because they are using real animals and real animals are often times abused to force into performing. I hope the show does not last. I watch it to see what animals they are using.
