A never-before-seen member of the Rizzoli & Isles family will finally make his debut this summer.

M*A*S*H vet David Ogden Stiers will appear in the TNT drama’s upcoming sixth season as Maura Isles’ adoptive father, Arthur, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Arthur is the only one of Maura’s parents not yet seen on the show; John Doman and Sharon Lawrence have previously appeared as Maura’s biological parents, and Jacqueline Bisset has guest-starred as her adoptive mother, Constance.

Stiers will first appear in the eighth episode of Season 6. Rizzoli & Isles returns Tuesday, June 16, at 9/8c.

Ready for more of today’s newsy nuggets? Well…

* The Walking Dead has added Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) as Heath, a key comic-book character who will appear in Season 6. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hawkins will recur on the series as Heath becomes an important member of the Alexandria Safe Zone.

* AMC’s Comic Book Men is casting “quirky comic geeks” who are interested in buying or selling comic-related items and retro pop cultural collectibles. Sound like you? Then head here (if you’re at least 18 years old and can travel to Red Bank, N.J.) to apply.

* Treat Williams (Chicago Fire) and Bill Irwin (Law & Order: SVU) have both been cast in Confirmation, HBO’s upcoming TV movie about the controversial hearings surrounding Clarence Thomas’ Supreme Court appointment. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Williams will play Senator Ted Kennedy and Irwin will play former Missouri Senator John Danforth.

* Martin Starr (Silicon Valley) will guest-star on Season 2 of FX’s Married, EW.com reports. He will play Judah, an awkward loner renting Lina and Russ’ guest house, in the Aug. 13 installment titled “Murder!”

This is why i stopped watching the show. So scripted/planned. Dont get me wrong i dont think there are literal scripts of what to say word for word, but they shoot specific “segments” and thats obvious…the staff talking about specific topics together alone in the empty shop (aka after it has closed or before it has opened) and the people that come in obviously answered a casting call just like the one quoted here, and then their “segments” of a celebrity “happening” to stop in, or them going to a garage sale or w/e….i dont want “reality” TV of a comic book shop, i always prefer Docu-series style shows…give me it REAL.

These reasons are the exact identical reasons as to why i stopped watching Wahlburgers as well.
