Mariah Carey Joins James Corden for Carpool Karaoke — Watch Video

In his first week, James Corden has been waterboarded by Jay Leno, awakened by Meryl Streep and “acted” opposite Tom Hanks. For The Late Late Show‘s new host, singing with Mariah Carey was just another “sweet, sweet fantasy” come true.

On Wednesday night’s episode, the British comic invited the five-time Grammy winner to drive with him to work, not only to sing with music royalty, but as a means of gaining access to the coveted carpool lane, thus avoiding L.A.’s heinous traffic jams.

Hit the PLAY button above, and watch as the bubbly host holds his own with Carey on classics such as “Always Be My Baby” and “Vision of Love,” and 2014’s “Thirsty.”

So freakin’ hilarious. James Corden has done a very good job taking over for Craig Ferguson and I think he’ll do great as the NEW host of The Late Late Show in the years to come and beyond. Reggie Watts is also great as the bandleader and I really enjoy the NEW Late Late Show set which is a whole lot better than Craig Ferguson’s and for the first time on late night TV, they also have a bar. Also, can’t wait until September when Stephen Colbert takes over The Late Show. CBS is really starting to shake up late night TV.

I agree, that was definitely fun to watch. James Corden is relishing this job and the enthusiasm is very apparent.

      P. S. I love Colbert but I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to Dave just yet.

Funny! That’s the James Corden I love.

  4. Ron says:

Dang it. This just took me down a rabbit hole of binging classic Mariah videos. But I’m okay with that.

  5. Corden’s off to fairly decent start. Trying to decide what start he’s more comparable to because I like his beginnings more than quite a few other tail end of late night hosts, yet he, no surprise, still hopefully has nowhere to go but up.

AWWWWWESOME!!!! I think I love Mariah again.
