Ratings: Last Man Tops Night, Secrets and Lies Ticks Up, Battle Creek Dips

Last Man on Earth Ratings

A double helping of Fox’s Last Man on Earth this Sunday drew 4.5 million total viewers/1.9 rating and 4.1 mil/1.6, winning the night in the demo and besting/matching its week-ago numbers in the 9:30 time slot.

Fox’s only other original, Bob’s Burgers (2.2 mil/1.0), was flat.

Over on ABC, Once Upon a Time (5.7 mil/1.8) and Revenge (4.4 mil/1.1) dipped in audience while steady in the demo. Secrets and Lies (5.5 mil/1.5) ticked up a tenth.

CBS’ Madam Secretary (10.4 mil/1.3) dipped 8 percent in audience but ticked up in the demo. The Good Wife (8.2 mil/1.0) dropped a few eyeballs while steady in the demo. Battle Creek (6 mil/0.8) slipped 12 percent and a tenth.

Is there any hope that The Good Wife can turn this tumble down around? The campaign clunker has almost sunk the show. Now that she’s elected, it will be more politics which aren’t selling.

    • anne says:

Glad to see I’m not alone regarding this season of The Good Wife. The show seems rudderless without direction. Hated the campaign. Hated her sleeping with her campaign manager. Would love to see her and Finn.

    • Ginger Snap says:

It’s the overnights. Where I live, it was a nice sunny Sunday with daylight savings time in effect. I’ve got plenty of time to watch TGW. It can wait a good week.

  2. Tran says:

Battle Creek continues to be the bearer of bad news and the 10 p.m. Sunday night time slot remains a “black hole” for CBS. What would the Eye network do about The Good Wife and its renewal chances and a possible “final season”?

  3. TheFan says:

Yikes is OUAT going to get canceled?

    • Tran says:

OUAT isn’t going anywhere if your theory is wrong.

    • Eric7740 says:

I think next season of OUAT will/should be its last. I’m a huge fan of this show, but I want it to go out with dignity. Then ABC will have fun rebuilding their Sunday nights!!!

    • Name That Tune says:

How about taking your finger off of the panic button. These are overnight ratings. And they are only part of the picture.

Google an article friom Variety called The New TV Math, which discusses multi-platform ratings. You need to wait 30 days before you know what the real numbers are, and TVLine doesn’t report that number.

  4. BrightLight says:

Battle Creek’s numbers might have been slightly higher if they show didn’t start airing at 10:35PM on the East Coast. Glad to see Madam Secretary is still doing well though. It’s still the highlight on Sunday nights for me.

  5. kmw says:

Even with those lower numbers OUAT is not going anywhere, it is Revenge that is in trouble. The second hour of Dateline beat it in demo and HH ratings. CBS has viewers, but not demo. Battle Creek is all but done. Good for LMOE, FOX has a bright spot for their comedies

  6. Mable says:

I bet CBS is kicking itself that they didn’t renew The Mentalist for a whole season. TGW started tanking after The Mentalist left the Sunday lineup. I want to like Battle Creek but the writing just isn’t there and the stories aren’t interesting, poor Josh Duhamel, he deserves better.

  7. Iakovos says:

CBS does have a Sunday dilemma. Again, I say: Sports overruns are a turnoff. The 10 PM shows start too late. Surprised BATTLE CREEK does not do better as NBC cannot seem to do anything on Sundays. A VOICE recap and DATELINE? Sheesh! Sundays used to be prime nights for television viewing. But nothing is special anymore.

  8. Boiler says:

Aaah another night where CBS leads the pack in viewers and is picked on.

  9. Carol C says:

I’m a big fan of Battle Creek and am sadly preparing myself for bad news. Six million viewers sounds pretty good to me, but it’s the 0.8 that’s the killer.

  10. dj says:

Love Last Man Standing and I am REALLY enjoying “Secrets and Lies”. Can hardly wait to see whodunit!

  11. Dennis says:

OAUT is a brand. It’s not going anywhere

  12. Dennis says:

    Hope Revenge gets renewed!!!!!!!!
