Hawaii Five-0 Sneak Peek: Danny and the 'Killing Machine' Return to Therapy

Loading video...

Perhaps Hawaii Five-0‘s unseen therapist should just wave the white flag and let Steve and Danny agree to disagree?

In the above sneak peek from tonight’s episode (CBS, 9/8c), Five-0’s top cops are subject to another round of therapy, just as they were in the Season 5 premiere. This time around, the topics at hand include someone’s “control” issues and the other’s tendency to be “overly sensitive.”

And on the heels of Danny paying his partner a compliment (of sorts?), there’s the matter of Steve response in a bothersome, non-verbal way.

The session — including the amusing bit of homework that comes out of it — sets the stage for the rest of the Daniel Dae Kim-directed episode, in which Steve and Danny try to work on their relationship while they stake out a woman’s apartment.

Guest stars include Max Weinberg (reprising his Season 3 role as Norm), Emmy winner Cloris Leachman (Raising Hope), Charlie Saxton (Hung), Jon Lovitz (Saturday Night Live) and Jessica Lowndes (90210).

good sneak peek clip. thank you Matt for posting it. can’t wait to watch new episode tonight!

  2. Andy J says:

I love that Cloris Leachman is going to be on the show; in the classic MTM show episode “The Lars Affair” Leachman, as Phyllis explains how she started to weep uncontrollably while watching the original “Hawaii 5-0” because Lars was having an affair with Sue Ann. When hubby Lars asked her why she was weeping she said it was because she was overcome by the beauty of Diamond Head.

  3. Mary says:

They’re simply amazing together… thanks for sharing this clip!

  4. Gaia says:

This episode is gonna be hilarious! #McDanno

  5. Tran says:

How come we haven’t heard the infamous catch phrase BOOK ‘EM DANNO for years?

    • anonymous says:

Probably because they have to chase someone down and book ’em first. They seem to be getting away from that part of the show.

This used to be an action show with some great side humor between Steve and Danno. Now they seem to be edging more and more towards the comedy. They’re also running out of people to do the running and chasing as Scott is away a lot. They even used Jerry to run a perp out of the picture one episode! They need to hire some fit guest stars and use Chin Ho and Kono more.

      • Liz says:

I know Scott absence hurts the show a bit, but I guess the network had given him permission for that time off to attend personal projects and also taking care of his baby daughter who lives in California with the mom.

    • Liz says:

I miss that catch phrase as well It was like part of the show story. I guess since Scott had been away for many episodes, there is noone to say it to, but even with Scott around lately that catch phrase is like getting away from the story arc this season. Maybe because Danny never liked Steve to call him Danno as it he had previously stated, it could be that now Steve had learned his lesson and repsect Dannys choice of not calling him anymore that nickname so is no longer part of Steve vocabulary

    • Maria Quinn says:

The phrase “Book ’em Danno” actually wasn’t used in the original series as much as people believe. It definitely wasn’t used weekly. And so the same is happening in this version. It gets used when it’s “worth” using.

  6. Kathy B says:

Personally I’m sick of the constant bickering between these two. I have enjoyed the episodes that Danny is not in – so much more than the ones he’s in and just nit picking. Kono and Chin Ho story lines, putting focus on the crime of the week and building some positive relationships are so much more enjoyable to watch than this childish bickering.

  7. Bzbs says:

What was all that noise going on durring the show 2/27/15? It wa distracting and at times so loud one couldnt hear what was being said.

  8. Carmel Gabrial says:

Suffering through tonight’s episode. Portions are great but the McGarret – Dano discourse is killing us. Gaah. Puhleese. We are dying. It is dreadful.
A Very Faithful Fan *seriously since small kid Jack Lord days…

  9. Sharon Fentiman says:

Watched the episode last night and it was the best written, directed and acted so far. Loved the scenes between Alex and Scott – perfect chemistry and timing. And Cloris Leachman was a hoot – so good. Would love to see more of her on the show, with Jorge stepping in as a song-surrogate. Very sweet. Congrats Daniel on an excellently directed show.

  10. Grace says:

Best couple on television right now! Love their bickering and the sweetness in their relationship that exists beneath all of that. Thanks for the clip, Matt!
