Parenthood's Erika Christensen to Star in ABC's L.A. Crime Pilot

Erika Christensen ABC Pilot

Parenthood‘s Erika Christensen will dip her toe back into darker, Swimfan-esque waters with a lead role on the ABC pilot L.A. Crime.

A character-driven “true crime” procedural, L.A. Crime‘s first season will focus on two cops in search of a Bonnie & Clyde-esque pair of serial killers amidst the rock-and-roll, cocaine-infused revelry of the 1980s Sunset Strip.

Per our sister site Variety, Christensen will play Betty, a nurse and single mom who meets, is enamored with and ultimately forms a dangerous partnership with a man named Kent.

In addition to her recently wrapped run as Julia Braverman, Christensen’s TV credits include Six Degrees, Lie to Me and Robot Chicken voice work.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

  1. Tran says:

She was good during her amazing six year run on Parenthood as Julia but she was so good at being bad in the movie Swimfan.

  2. Ray says:

L.A. Crime, American Crime, Ryan Murphy’s American Crime…. I can’t keep them all straight. Isn’t the TV landscape being bombarded with all of these copy cat crime shows?

    • Marco says:

Ryan Murphy’s American Crime Story. And these show only have in common the fact that they focus on a crime. AC is about an attack on a couple that results in the death of the husband and coma of the wife, and seems to have racial undertones, ACS is an anthology series about the dramatization of real-life american crimes, starting with the OJ Simpson case, and you can see above for LA Crime.

    • Et al says:

My immediate thought was ‘huh? That starts next week! How was she just cast?’. Took me a second. I agree these three similarly titled projects are a tad confusing.

  3. Dean says:

Well damn she’s reason enough for me to watch this now.

  4. schu says:

    Good for her!

  5. Steven says:

Not my kind of show, but I love that you mentioned Swimfan!

  6. mollytanner says:

This needs Jesse Bradford in the cast.

  7. Joey Padron says:

Glad she’s returning to TV after Parenthood. Hope the show gets pick up.
