Stephen Colbert on The Mindy Project — First Look at His Heavenly Guest Spot

Stephen Colbert Mindy Project

Holy guest star! Is Stephen Colbert going to help Danny Castellano make an honest woman out of Mindy Lahiri?

The Mindy Project star on Friday tweeted an on-set photo of herself with Colbert in a cathedral, saying, “Coming soon to #themindyproject: Father Michael O’Donnell.”

It would certainly make sense that the show’s main couple would find themselves in need of a priest, considering traditionalist Danny would likely prefer that he and Mindy be married when their baby arrives — and who better to usher them into the next chapter of their lives?

They should have a Hindu wedding. It’s much rarer on American TV.

That is true, but Mindy doesn’t seem to care about her religion much while Danny won’t shut up about it so it makes sense if they have a Catholic wedding.

    This is AWESOME!

It is a television and movie cliche to portray Catholic priests as either pedophiles or evil, even though the vast majority of them are kind, decent, extremely hard-working people (compare this to how many teachers you see in the news lately who have taken advantage of children, yet in TV and movies they are always portrayed as heroes). All that said, this is looking like, in Colbert, we may get a depiction of an actual real life priest. Hope that’s the case, anyway.

I love this show but even if I didn’t I’d be in awe of the amazing guest stars Mindy books… She has the hottest ex-bfs ever….

Disappointed in Colbert, he’s smarter than this. Mindy Project show dead by Spring. He’s got his opinions, but I’m looking forward to Late Night once he’s host.
