Sneak Peek: Backstrom Reveals He's Been Bullied... and 'Squirreled'?

Backstrom‘s titular police lieutenant had a rough childhood, apparently, as disclosed in this sneak peek from this week’s episode of Fox’s freshman drama (Thursday, 9/8c).

In Episode 2 of the midseason procedural, the Special Crimes Unit is enlisted to help with an arson case that gets escalated to attempted murder. In the clip below, as Backstrom and Detective John Almond prepare to search a local firehouse, Rainn Wilson’s alter ego lets slip with some details about his past — including a form of bullying that’s “exactly what you think it is.”

Advisory: Top Gun volleyball scene-caliber barechested male revelry ahead.

I’ve been bullied since middle school and now I really hate bullies because they’re mean and cannot be ignored if someone never listens to them. My advice to everybody: don’t be a bully if someone bullies back (a message from our sponsor at TV Line).
