Ray Donovan Sets Deadwood Reunion as Ian McShane Joins Season 3 Cast

Ray Donovan Ian McShane Season 3

Al and Trixie, together again!

Ray Donovan has tapped Ian McShane to join the Showtime drama’s upcoming third season, reuniting the actor with his onetime Deadwood leading lady Paula Malcomson, TVLine had learned exclusively.

McShane will play the recurring role of Malcolm Finney, a prominent movie producer and billionaire who hires Ray (Liev Schreiber) to get his family out of a potentially catastrophic situation.

It’s not known if McShane’s Malcolm will cross paths with Malcomson’s Abby, but a run-in or two seems inevitable given his connection to Ray.

McShane’s last major TV gig was an arc on FX’s American Horror Story: Asylum.

At the Television Critics Assoc. press tour earlier this month, Showtime president David Nevins teased that Ray Donovan‘s third season — its first without series creator Ann Biderman at the helm — will “get a little bit beyond the Donovan family.”

They say the show will go BEYOND the Donovan family??? Ohhh noooooooooooo, the only reason I’m addicted to this show is because of Liev Schreiber & the Donovan family!!!!!

Showtime sure casts a lot of former hbo stars in their shows. Michael C Hall, Edie Falco, Dominic west, damien Lewis barely scratches the surface. Does Showtime do this to stick it to hbo? Why cant they find their own talent.

    • Actually, Showtime started making cable movies and mini series before HBO. HBO, stole the ball and ran with for awhile. Showtime now has the ball back. Their shows have become quite successful, and entertaining.

Now that Justified is done, can they get Timothy Olyphant as a guest star?

Is the late John Ireland’s son an actor? In Ar-Rissalah in State of Affairs an FBI agent is a spitting image.

  7. Okay Ian McShane fans. If you haven’t seen Death Race with Jason Stathan(it came out a few years ago) McShane has a big role in the movie.
