TVLine Items: Blake Shelton's SNL Promo, New Outlander Scene & More

Did Saturday Night Live just murder Blake Shelton?

In what might be the wackiest series of SNL promos to date, the Voice coach spends two-and-a-half minutes sharing laughs with Cecily Strong, only to be killed off at the end. That’s right, people — killed.

So, how do we lose Shelton? Click PLAY on the promo above to find out the awful truth. (Personally, I think it was karma for those jabs at Adam Levine.)

Ready for more of today’s newsy nuggets? Well…

* Disney XD has given a series order to Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything, a live-action comedy starring Cameron Boyce (Jessie) as a professional video game player who uses the skills he learns in the virtual world to navigate everyday life. Gamer’s Guide is expected to premiere this summer.

* TNT’s The Librarians on Sunday night wrapped its freshman run with 3.3 million total viewers and a 0.8 demo rating (at 8 pm), followed by 3 mil/0.7 — down a tick from the week prior and off 41 percent from its strong December premiere.

* Starz on Saturday (9/8c) will air the opening scene of Outlander‘s April 4 midseason premiere, leading into the Black Sails season premiere.

* Aya Cash (You’re the Worst) will guest-star on Modern Family as a college interviewer who meets with Alex, EW.com reports.
