Ratings: NCIS: LA, Gotham and Sleepy Tie Lows, State of Affairs Surges

NCIS LA Ratings

CBS’ NCIS: Los Angeles this Monday drew 9.5 million total viewers and a 1.5 rating, sliding 20 and 25 percent and matching its series low in the demo.

Elsewhere on the Eye, 2 Broke Girls (8.9 mil/2.2) and Scorpion (12 mil/2.2) each slipped two tenths, while Mike & Molly (9.3 mil/2.1) was steady.

THE CW | The Originals (1.48 mil/0.6) hit a season high in audience while flat in the demo. Jane the Virgin celebrated Gina Rodriguez’s Golden Globe win by delivering its most watched episode since its launch, 1.42 million viewers, while flat in the 18-49 demo (with a 0.5).

NBC | Celeb Apprentice (6.5 mil/1.8) inched up 10 percent and a tenth, while State of Affairs (4.5 mil/1.1) surged 24 and 57 percent. Huh.

FOX | The just-renewed Gotham (6.4 mil/2.2) slipped 10 and 12 percent, while Sleepy Hollow (4.2 mil/1.3) was down 7 and 19 percent, with both shows matching series lows.

ABC | The Bachelor (7.5 mil/2.1) rose 15 and 17 percent, and Castle (7.5 mil/1.4) ticked up 10 percent and a tenth.

It is no wonder we get crap network TV. The Bachelor and Trump ratings are an embarrasment

    • GuessWhat says:

agreed. viewers are getting so lazy. god forbid they sit through quality tv @ 100% full attention. they rather “converse” with their social media friends (and strangers) on their electronic devices and half pay attention to crap tv.

      • Normandy says:

The number of people on this very site whining that Person of Interest isn’t an episodic procedural anymore speaks volumes.

      • lechatnoir says:

So true … NCIS LA is the one show I noticed many of my relatives use as background noise when they are navigating through their social media vices. The Menz over the age of 60 love it . I know this show isn’t going to disappear even though I want all the NCIS and their spin-offs gone.

        • James says:

There are those of us over 60 who recognize the bad acting, bad casting, and idiotic storylines portraying the two lead characters as some sort of international superheroes, showing everything. the real life NCIS is NOT. It is certainly an embarrasment to the quality of the parent show NCIS, and even THAT one is a bit out in left field on occasion while still a really good show. Just sayin’ !

        • Really? says:

I want world peace–don’t think I’m getting that either.

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

  2. David4 says:

State of Affairs had to surge, had no where to go but up.

  3. Tran says:

State of Affairs was mind blowing last night but who knows whether or not the series is going to make it for another year. As for 2 Broke Girls, let’s hope it gets renewed for Season Five because the hit sitcom isn’t going anywhere and CBS has bigger fish to fry.

  4. Babybop says:

Ouch for Sleepy. I’ll be heartbroken if it gets cancelled!

  5. lupe says:

Happy for Castle. Hoping that in February will do better, maybe close to 10 m/1.8-2.0??? Fingers crossed :)

  6. wrstlgirl says:

Sadly Sleepy Hollow bores me to death anymore. I hope they can turn it around.

  7. saynay says:

After this weekend’s TCA comments and the ratings, I feel like any hope for S3 of Sleepy Hollow is gone. Unless Fox has a really bad pilot season, a renewal will probably be a gift.

  8. Jason Paul says:

Sleepy Hollow has had such a dramatic ratings drop from last season. And it even has a strong lead-in.

  9. puck says:

Katrina killed Sleepy Hollow. I hope season 3 is Katrina free.

    • wrstlgirl says:

I agree. I’d prefer more Jenny and Nick and less or no Katrina.

    • Tenney says:

Katrina was definitely one of the things that has hurt Sleepy Hollow. Also, Sleepy Hollow can be a dark show and the other thing that is missing this season from last season is some of the humor that balanced the darkness of the show. Last season it was fun to watch Ichabod learn about 21st century life; that alone brought many funny moments. How great was it to see Ichabod learn about things like McDonalds and Onstar (his conversation with the Onstar person was golden!). I’m really missing that this season. So far I haven’t given up on it yet, but I’m hanging on by a thread.

    • lechatnoir says:

Katriona never should have left that limbo world. she derailed this entire season and killed the chemistry between Ichabod and Abby .

      • Ray says:

Why can’t people watch a show with partners and not “ship” them. Katrina is his wife, the love of his life. She is a powerful witch that could help the team or if switched sides or became possessed could be a top villian. But instead of realizing that Ichabod and Abby are trying to save mankind people want them to fall in love and live happily ever after. Forget the fact that doing so would mean he would have failed his son and wife. Save that garbage for Bones and Castle.

        • Amanda says:

I don’t ship any couple on Sleepy Hollow and I absolutely agree that Katrina’s presence, and even the focus on her, has thrown the show out of whack. Making her a regular has been a mistake.

    • Marci says:

I do too. She’s the sorriest, most annoying, excuse for a witch in the history of TV witches. Samantha of “Betwitched” would have been more interesting.

  10. Jax&Juice's Girl says:

I agree about Sleepy Hollow I ended up watching this instead of Scorpion. S1 was better it was fun to watch there some twist and turns as for S2………..not so much. With the return of Frank maybe there could be some excitement on if it’s ”REALLY” him or some demon that looks like him. But who knows at this point.

  11. John NYC says:

Castle and NCIS:L.A. BOTH lower than Scorpion? I like the show but it’s such a lightweight compared to either of those…. puzzles.

  12. evababy says:

Not surprised by the low ratings for Sleepy Hollow. It was advertised as the Katrina and Crane date episode. And also the synopsis made it clear that Katrina was the one going to be investigating by Crane’s side. So it crystallized a lot of fears and frustrations fans were already having about the show. So not surprised people stayed away.

  13. Shannon says:

Glad to hear that about State of Affairs even if it did shock the hell out of me.

  14. kmw says:

Boy I guess demo numbers were even worse than I thought for State of Affairs if it getting to a 1.1 is good news. This show is still not going to make it. Surprised that CBS was mostly down last night. I knew Castle would rebound but I thought viewer totals would be higher. The CW had a good night viewer wise. Given FOX renewing Gotham I thought they would do better, and conversely I am not surprised that Sleepy Hollow fell seeing how FOX is going to “fix” it. Even with their ratings fall I don’t think FOX will cancel it just yet

  15. auntiemm says:

Love NCIS LA but can’t stand Julie Chen so I passed last night. First time this season.

  16. At this point, I doubt “Sleepy Hollow” can be saved.

    • B says:

I’m not sure either I’d really like to know if network interference is to blame for this season or if the show lost some of it’s crew from the first season because those people claimed to have a plan for the show and if this was their plan it was a failure lol

  17. Katherine215 says:

Disappointed for NCISLA and Castle, but State of Affairs was surprisingly good last night so I’m glad to see it rewarded. I don’t know what’s going on with Sleepy Hollow this season, but it went from must-see to eh, I’ll watch it sometime. I don’t hate Katrina like some do, but the story just hasn’t been as good this year. I can’t figure out what it is for me. I think they made a mistake relegating Jenny and Frank to the background. I loved the team dynamic last year (reminded me of Fringe), and I feel that was lacking a lot this season. So maybe I can figure it out, hah!

  18. Daniella says:

I love State of Affairs. I really wish more people liked it and didn’t just write it off because of heigl. She is good in this and the show is exciting.

    • Carla Krae says:

      Agreed!

    • ChrisGa says:

Couldn’t disagree more; I just can’t with State of Affairs. In my experience it’s been very rare when I didn’t enjoy a Katherine Heigl performance–even in a number of those atrocities she’s tried to pass of as movies–but I find her to be utterly flat and lifeless in this show.

  19. Viv says:

Tha Sleepy Hollow ratings are sad, although I understand it. I store the episode for the summer. Don´t know I feel like they introduced characters that just don´t work. Katrina being the obvious example, but I´m not a big fan of Henry either. And it is just not as much fun as it used to be… it´s not that it is “too serialized”. Usually I like serialized shows, but this season is just “meh”.

  20. Jenna says:

So, Mrs. Moonves wasn’t a draw? Shocking.

  21. Ray says:

State of Affairs is actually starting to be good. It started out scattered in plots like Scandal in its first season but is now finding its footing. Even though this show is trying to be like Scandal I don’t think most viewers will forgive Katherine Heigl enough to watch.

  22. suzybel58 says:

I stopped watching NCIS LA last year, found it boring, only one I liked was Hetty.

  23. Paulette says:

These few shows…Scorpion, Madam Secretary, NCIS: New Orleans are great programs and wiith as ll the uhhh undesirable almost porn that is shown with the horrible language and in primr time when children still watch…it is sooo sad! There are others I watch weekly and am so scared thry will be removed for more REALITY STUFF that is anything BUT real. Is Under the Dome coming back? The Following? Good things though not sure yours…In Plain Sight, Covert Affairs to name a couple that were removed… I always loved Criminal Minds but is is horrible and graphic, its getting hard to watch. Thanks for a chance to vent…as if it matters….
