Wet Hot American Summer Series Adds Josh Charles, John Slattery, Six Others

Wet Hot American Summer Cast

Some new (yet strangely familiar) faces are coming to Camp Firewood.

Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer series has recruited a bevy of guest-stars for its eight-episode run, our sister site Deadline reports, including: Josh Charles (The Good Wife), John Slattery (Mad Men), Michaela Watkins (Trophy Wife), Randall Park (The Interview‘s Kim Jong-un), Jayma Mays (Glee), Paul Scheer (The League), Rob Huebel (Transparent) and Richard Schiff (The West Wing).

It’s not yet known which of these names will be guest-stars, who will recur, etc.

These eight newcomers join most of the 2001 cult film’s original cast. including Amy Poehler, Michael Showalter, Elizabeth Banks and Bradley Cooper.

How can this be a prequel ? The original cast has aged

  2. herman1959 says:

The term used in the original article was “revival”, not prequel.

I meant to add that I will be watching if only to see all of these people working together. I have a hard time picturing some of them working off each other based on what they’ve done more recently.

Some of the cast have been calling this a prequel when they talk about it, so I think that’s what it’s going to be. And to the person who doesn’t understand how it can be a prequel, did you watch the original? It fits right in with the tone of the movie to think that they would all be playing younger versions of themselves even though they are a lot older than they were.

this has to be one of the best casting notices for anything, ever, hands down. I need this to now happen, like yesterday.
