Ratings: Jingle Ball Rises, 2-1/2 Men and Mom Slip, Old Bang Tops Night

Ariana Grande Jingle Ball

Leading out of a Big Bang rerun — which led Thursday in both total viewers (10.7 million) and in the demo (with a 2.3 rating) — CBS’ Mom this week drew 10.1 mil and a 2.3, dipping 6 and 11 percent, yet tying Big Bang for the demo win.

Two and a Half Men (9 mil/1.9) slipped 17 percent in the demo, while The McCarthys (7.1 mil/1.6) and Elementary (7.7 mil/1.4) were steady.

NBC | The Biggest Loser (3.8 mil/0.9) slipped 10 percent and two tenths, hitting an all-time demo low. That People Magazine awards thing debuted to 3.7 mil (the night’s third-smallest audience for original programming) and a 0.8 rating (besting only The CW).

THE CW | This year’s broadcast of iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball (1.8 mil/0.6) rose 36 percent and a tenth versus 2013.

ABC | The Taste (3.1 mil/0.8) was steady.

  1. I’d like to know how well Ascension did.

  2. Tran says:

Season 2 of Mom is still the best and I can’t wait to see Anna Faris and Allison Janney co-host the People’s Choice Awards on January 7th. BTW, how did the final episode of The Colbert Report fare?

  3. Paul says:

I have never found what people find amusing by watching Mom. Family dysfunction, spousal abuse, and teen pregnancies are not my idea of humor or entertainment.

  4. So, a rerun is the top show of the night… Yeah…. It’s Friends 2.0 Science version!!!

  5. Moment says:

I’m quite happy for Elementary, after quite a few episodes with terrible numbers, they’re starting to recover somewhat. After last weeks 1.4, if it could repeat this, I think it would be pretty good. People are coming back to it.

    • BrittBrat says:

Well there wasn’t much on tv last night, so if Elementary can’t fare well against competition, it will get cancelled.

      • Moment says:

It won’t get cancelled until after Season 4 at the very least. Anyway I’m just happy that people are coming back, CBS was pre-empted in a small market last night but I can’t see that affecting the numbers too much. I’m hoping they hold.
