An adaptation of Lev Grossman’s best-selling book series, The Magicians follows a group of 20-somethings studying magic in New York.

Ralph will star as the brilliant-yet-depressed Quentin, while Bacon — daughter of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick — will play the shy-yet-powerful Alice.

Totally didn’t know Doll & Em existed until I read this. Must check that one out, and I’ll also give The Magicians a try, as I read the first book in the series.

  2. nikkiholly says:

Bacon girl? Really? Does she sell pig products? You couldn’t even do Bacon daughter?

  3. Sam Shaw says:

Okay, so HBO did not “renew” Doll and Em. It is choosing to air it, because the show was already renewed in the UK two months ago.

I’m sorry to be nitpicky, but it always bugs me when sites claim that foreign imports are renewed by their American channels.

    • James says:

It’s a bit of a same thing when foreign broadcasters cancels US shows. For example, Networked Ten canceled 90210 back in Australia more than 6 seasons ago, Sky Living in the UK canceled both Teen Wolf and supernatural and there was a really big fuss over their axing in that country.

    • Catfish says:

I am glad that the UK networks seem to have better taste than American networks. Doll and Em is a very underrated show.
