Ratings: Resurrection, Revenge Hit Series Lows; Mentalist Returns Steady

ABC’s Once Upon a Time returned from its week off to 6.3 million total viewers and a season-low 2.0 demo rating, down 7 and 16 percent from its two-hour outing.

Leading out of that, things got significantly rougher for ABC, with Resurrection (3.6 mil/0.8) and Revenge (4.1 mil/1.0) both dropping 22 and 33 percent to all-time lows.

  1. Tran says:

What are the chances Resurrection gets canceled if it doesn’t hold up? Need percentages.

  2. Dennis says:

Matt, do you think is the last season for Revenge?

If so, do you think Emily VanCamp will then join “Agents of Shield” as her Sharon Carter character from the Cap2 film?

    • Pat says:

Wait! Do you think aliens exist? Do you think there is such a thing as bigfoot? Do you think bigfoot is an alien? Do you think we’ll ever see NCIS: Roswell?

Answer me damn it! My magic 8 ball is on the fritz.

      • Dennis says:

Lol. It’s not really that far fetched! She HAS stated in an interview that she wouldn’t mind popping up on “Agents of Shield,” so, although I appreciate your witty sarcasm, it’s based on her own words that she WOULD love to appear on that show, if asked. And perhaps Matt had some intel on that. No need to be rude, Pat ;)

  3. Kay says:

Yay!! Mentalist had a good night…

  4. Moment says:

Resurrection is dead, it won’t come back, Revenge will likely be announced as the final season. I’m surprised by that OUAT drop.

  5. the ratings for revenge were getting great week to week a couple of weeks ago, but i think this little break affected much more than we thought it would.
I think this is the last season of Revenge, not because of the storylines, but because of the ratings flop. Hope ABC takes the right decision and the fans of the show really support it.

  6. Joe says:

They normally make announcements around this time of year if they are going to end a show like revenge ( because they have to start planning to end it ) if we don’t hear anything by next month , it’s safe to assume one more season ( abc would be stupid to not end the show properly ) they gotta end it it’s getting harder to watch ( the original premise is done) I stuck with it since the start (even season 2) but it’s ge harder to watch give it a 12 episode final season

  7. wrstlgirl says:

The only thing I watched live last night other than TWD was Revenge. It’s really lost it’s way. Emily/Amanda shenanigans have become quite ridiculous.

  8. A says:

i hope revenge gets renewed for s5 but with 12 episodes, that way 100th episode will be the series finale

  9. KB says:

The last season of The Mentalist??? It’s got better ratings then Resurrection, CSI and Revenge!

    • brandydanforth81 says:

That dosent matter,it’s not competing against shows on other networks for renewal but against shows on its network,CBS.WB owns it,not CBS ,( so tgeres incentive to keep it around since cbs isnt making syndication money off it since they dont own it)it’s already in syndication and CBS needs room for new shows next season.NpBe grateful you get a proper ending.

  10. kirads09 says:

Sad as I feel Resurrection is really trying to do some interesting things and has really gotten good. I just am going to relish every moment of ever episode while it lasts. Hoping for a rebound and pleasant surprise of a remewal.

  11. I hope that the writers for Revenge are planning to write the series finale for May. I’d hate to see a cancellation without resolution.

  12. Becky says:

Cowboys last Sunday night 8 and 11 percent better than Broncos last night. Told you so . . .

  13. Dave says:

Poor Resurrection. I want to keep trying but it’s just so damn boring. And, really, head-to-head with the fall finale of Walking Dead would sink pretty much any show.

  14. Rich Abey says:

Wow..that’s some impressive numbers for Mentalist’s premiere, and I’m glad that the fans tuned into the final season cause the show seems to have it’s old charm back (emphasized by the old-school mystery solve) which it was laacking after the end of the Red John saga & the Jane/Lisbon relationship is quite refreshing & fun!

  15. prish says:

Hmmm…and maybe they should keep Mentalist? Abbott and Cho are a hoot, while everyone and everything keeps getting better. Of course, I miss Van Pelt and Rigsby, but maybe they can stop by.

  16. Jonathan says:

Revenge is over. The plot looks like dry chicken versus a filet mignon. I feel sorry for the actors but this show lost a lot when David came back and Conrad checked out. Too many great characters killed off and no idea where this is going. Nice looking babes but the magic is gone.

  17. Jonathan says:

Got it Emily goes to NCIS to replace Daveed
