Selena Gomez Cries During 2014 AMAs Performance: Did You Tear Up Too?

Appearing in a cloud of dense fog, Selena Gomez took the 2014 American Music Awards stage Sunday with a tear-jerking — for her and Taylor Swift, anyway — performance of “The Heart Wants What It Wants.”

The former Wizards of Waverly Place star crooned her latest single over images of angel wings, a crown of thorns and, weirdest of all, a giant man trying to break through the wall and get to her. (“Run, Selena!” I screamed, but react she did not.)

Towards the end of her performance, Gomez took a minute to collect herself, as she appeared to mouth, “Thank you, Jesus.” (Or was it “thank you, Justin,” as a million websites have probably already asked.)

Did anyone else see her fall after?

  4. Bizzle says:

I cried, because it was such a boring, overwrought performance. Although I thought that about most of the performances this year. Last performance was good once I pressed mute. 😉

  7. Kelly Deeny says:

Performances like the one Selena gave last night are why I enjoy most music award shows. I thought this rendition beautiful and full of passion for not only the meaning in the lyrics but that her voice was the focal point, as it should be on an award show celebrating music. Brava!
