Showtime Developing Drama About a POTUS Election That Spurs a Civil War

Showtime gets our vote for impeccable timing.

The pay cabler announced this Tuesday that it is developing Anthem, a drama series whose pilot opens on a typical presidential election day and ends with America on the brink of a second Civil War.

All told, the project aspires to survey what happens when our political system collapses under the weight of mistrust and partisan division.

Former presidential speechwriter Jon Lovett (1600 Penn) will pen the pilot and serve as an executive producer alongside Brian Koppelman and David Levien (who also are shepherding the recently announced Showtime pilot Billions, starring Homeland‘s Damian Lewis and John Adams‘ Paul Giamatti).

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

If the gerrymandering continues much long, you won’t have to watch it on TV.
