Quantum Leap Reunion on NCIS: New Orleans as Dean Stockwell Guest Stars

Wizard World Chicago Comic Con 2012 - Day 3

Oh boy!!!

NCIS: New Orleans is going back to the future in November, so to speak, casting Dean Stockwell as a retired cop opposite his former Quantum Leap co-star Scott Bakula, according to EW.com.

Stockwell will play Tom Hamilton — father of Councilman Douglas Hamilton (Steven Weber) — who “arrogantly pushes back” as Bakula’s Dwayne Pride & Co. look into a decades-old murder.

“We are thrilled to have [Stockwell] join us for some Thanksgiving fun and intrigue in NOLA,” executive producer Gary Glasberg told EW.

Can’t wait for a Quantum Leap reunion between Bakula & Stockwell on NCIS: NOLA. OH BOY!

  2. JeffDJ says:

Oh boy, this is cool! I guess their last QL reunion was back in the 2nd season of Star Trek Enterprise. Hopefully this one will be a lot more fun.

  3. Neal says:

I would rather be hearing about an actual QL reunion project as opposed to this but oh well, will take what I can get

  4. I’m not surprised by this. I been waiting for it too.

  5. Stlblues2 says:

Exciting news, can’t wait to see this episode. Hope to hear some QL references.

  6. JAO says:

Yay! Love this. I have always loved Dean & Scott together.

  7. Chip Ramsey says:

You may recap he played the Secretary of the Navy for a time on either JAG or NCIS.

  8. rocky-o says:

great to see them together again…would have been cool if stockwell played the secretary of the navy character that he played in jag, since the original ncis was spun off of that series to begin with…would have been a nice ‘double’ tie-in…

    • MichaelG. says:

Oh yeah, that would have ROCKED!!

    • Drewser says:

The get pretty casual about having actors play different characters on the spin-offs. Zoe McLellan stars on this show as a different character than her Petty Officer Coates character on JAG. Bud’s brother on JAG was a bad guy trying to frame Tony on NCIS, etc.

  9. MichaelG. says:

My 2014 Thanksgiving just got seriously fantastic, love seeing the guys back together again!

  10. stacey says:

Didn’t think it could get any better than putting Scott Bakula in my second favorite city. Add in Dean Stockwell and it puts it right over the moon. (would rather that it was as Sam and Al but I’ll take what I can get)

  11. Sandy says:

How coooool!! Always loved Quantum Leap. Both guys are great actors. Looking forward to many years of NCIS: NO….

  12. Katie_Mead says:

The only way to top this QL reunion, would be to next time include Brad Silverman (Jimmy), who may only have been in 4 episodes, but they were memorable appearances.

  13. LadyC says:

It seems that if you work on on Bellasario show you are bound to show up in other Bellasarion shows. Which is great for all
    he fans of those shows

  14. Karen Wood says:

I hope he becomes a permanent part-time player on the show! I love the bi-play between these two actors!

  15. Nancy H says:

NCIS New Orleans is awesome –just love it

Oh Boy! Looking forward to it.

  19. Alayne says:

So excited to see them together again. They were they best duo on TV in their day. Quantum Leap was the best show. Always in my top 10 favorites.

  20. Betty says:

YESSSSSSSSS! THEY ARE FINALLY BACK TOGETHER!!!!! This is too off the charts cool! I can’t wait to see them together again. OMGOSH!

  21. Deon says:

Throw in dear Mark Harmon with Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell and you will have a trifecta, but a winner either way! Thank you.

  22. Becky says:

This is the most excited I’ve ever been to see two actors reunited on TV. I hope Dean will have a recurring part.

  23. Lesley says:

It’s a shame that Dean Stockwell didn’t make an appearance on “Men of A Certain Age.” I’ve always suspected Scott Backula based his portrayal of Terry on Al! XD All kidding aside, seeing these two incredible actors– who have been friends since the first day they worked together on “Quantum Leap”– is an absolute joy!
