Third time’s the charm?
Alexandra Krosney, who in the past few years landed plum parts on network series but was subsequently recast, has nabbed the lead role in MTV’s Zach Braff-directed pilot Self Promotion.
Per our sister site Deadline, Krosney will play Katie Preston, an overworked assistant whose witchy boss goes missing. Katie, sure that she’ll be the main suspect, cleans up the crime scene and then conducts her own investigation to exonerate herself.
Krosney played Last Man Standing‘s Kristin for the show’s first season but was let go for creative reasons — and replaced by Amanda Fuller — for Season 2.
Earlier this year, she had (then lost) a role on the upcoming iZombie; her part, Peyton (AKA best friend to central character Liv), will be played by Aly Michalka (Wildcats) when the CW series bows at midseason.
Krosney’s many other TV credits include Emily Owens M.D., Nikita and Bones.
In addition, Nichole Bloom (Shameless) has been cast as Katie’s law-student roommate (read: free legal counsel) Winter who is described as “a little bit naughty librarian and a little bit stoner.”
Self Promotion is written by Mark Bianculli.
